O-035 Endovascular treatment of cerebral venous thrombosis involving the deep venous system
ConclusionsAlthough deep venous involvement of CVT is uncommon, these patients are at risk of quickly becoming critically ill with an elevated rate of death or dependency. Although these patients may develop stroke, hemorrhage, or neurologic decline prompting consideration of endovascular therapy, the deep cerebral venous system is not easily accessible with catheters due to small lumens and risk of perforation. It has been proposed that deep cerebral veins may have a higher chance of recanalization if venous thrombus burden is reduced in other parts of the dural venous sinuses. Current literature has not fully explored th...

O-040 Initial clinical experience with the bendit steerable articulating tip microcatheter for intracranial access and intervention
ConclusionsInitial clinical experience with the controlled articulation that permits flexion at the tip of the microcatheter demonstrated it to be safe. Access to difficult proximal origin curves, and distal clinoidal/ophthalmic segment anatomy may be improved due to the high torque transmission, and acute angulation of this microcatheter. Further experience with the delivery of therapeutic devices will be necessary to better understand the potential role that the present catheter may play in modern neurointerventional procedures.Abstract O-040 Table 1 Patient/Indication/Comorbidities/Treatment/Bendit 21 Role 60s F Cerebr...

O-042 Complications of DAPT cessation at 3 months versus 6 months after flow diversion of unruptured intracranial aneurysms
ConclusionsOnly 0.6% (n=1) of patients exhibited complications after 3 month follow-up. We conclude that DAPT duration of 3 months after endoluminal flow diversion of unruptured cerebral aneurysms of the anterior circulation is not associated with increased rates of hemorrhagic or thromboembolic complications compared to a traditional 6-month regimen.Disclosures S. O-048 Comparing outcomes after thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke due to large-vessel occlusion: children vs. adults - a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsEVT is a safe and effective treatment for AIS due to LVO in children. The immediate improvement in NIHSS score seen after EVT in pediatric patients is similar to adults; the data suggest higher rates of favorable long-term neurological outcomes, higher revascularization rates, and lower complication rates, endorsing consideration of this intervention in children presenting with LVO.Abstract O-048 Figure 1Disclosures M. O-059 Complex clinically-relevant silicone models can be endothelialized and used to visualize and assess vessel injury following catheter simulated use
ConclusionThis work demonstrates that complex, clinically-relevant silicone models can be successfully endothelialized and used to visualize and assess injury following catheter simulated-use. Results were consistent with expected trends based on number of passes and treatment approach, which supports future use of the model to evaluate and compare a variety of neurovascular devices. Overall, this provides a cost-effective, early-stage in vitro model that can precede or complement standard animal testing.Disclosures A. O-060 Evaluation of experimental acute ischemic stroke models for measuring stent retriever removal forces
ConclusionClot hematocrit did not influence SR removal forces, while model tortuosity positively correlated. Testing concluded that common AIS model materials underpredict the frictional forces that likely occur in-vivo by 2-4x. Additionally, it was determined that SR-artery frictional forces are much larger than clot-artery frictional forces and are the primary driver of overall removal force. The decreased forces between clots/SRs and experimental materials could explain the higher recanalization rates observed in in-vitro models.Abstract O-060 Figure 1Disclosures D. Poulos: None. O. O-063 First U.S. multicenter experience using the pipeline flex embolization device with shield technology for treatment of intracranial aneurysms
ConclusionOur study is the first to report the early experience with the newly FDA-approved PED Flex with Shield technology amongst US centers. P-001 Residual in-stent carotid stenosis and cigarette smoking are predictors of restenosis after stenting (CAS)
ConclusionWe present the largest single-center data in the US to date on carotid artery stenosis treated with CAS, and factors associated with restenosis. Residual in-stent carotid stenosis and smoking history were independent predictors. Maximizing treatment of initial stenosis within stent for carefully selected patients and aggressive smoking cessation education are important steps in preventing future carotid restenosis.Abstract P-001 Figure 1Carotid restenosis after carotid arty tenting (%) by categories of degree of residual stenosis after initial procedure (a), and by cutpoint of 29% (b)Disclosures P. P-004 Outcomes Stratified by nature of deficits at presentation (Disabling versus Non-disabling) in low NIHSS LVO patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy
ConclusionsOur retrospective study demonstrates a trend towards better functional outcomes in LVO patients with low NIHSS who were considered to have disabling deficits compared to those with non-disabling presenting symptoms. Future multicenter studies with a larger sample size and/or ongoing randomized trials for this subpopulation of LVO patients should examine this hypothesis further.Disclosures N. Goyal: None. J.
