Center-Level Variation in Failure to Rescue Following Elective Adult Cardiac Surgery

Race and Socioeconomic Disparities in Proximal Aortic Surgery
CONCLUSIONS: Patients of Non-White race undergoing proximal aortic surgery have less insurance coverage, more urgent procedures, and a higher comorbidity burden than White patients; which translates to Non-White patients having significantly higher morbidity. A greater focus on non-fatal outcome differentials and improving access to care likely will improve aortic surgery disparities.PMID:37031768 | DOI:10.1016/j.athoracsur.2023.03.032

Outcomes of Surgical Repair of Aberrant Subclavian Arteries in Adults
CONCLUSIONS: KD Aortic Origin Diameter correlates with number of symptoms, and surgical repair of ASCA and descending aorta origin/KD effectively relieves symptoms with low rates of reintervention. Transcatheter vs Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement in Pure Native Aortic Regurgitation
CONCLUSIONS: In Medicare patients with pure native AR, TAVR with the current commercially available transcatheter valves has comparable short-term outcomes.
