Screening for post-stroke neurocognitive disorders in diverse populations: a systematic review
Conclusions: MoCA, MMSE and OCS are promising tools for diagnosing post-stroke-NCD. For culturally diverse populations, translation, adaptation and adjusted scores or cut-offs are necessary for diagnostic accuracy. Available studies report scarcely about their sample's cultural background and there is a lack of diagnostic accuracy studies in less WEIRD or culturally diverse populations. Future studies should report more cultural characteristics of their sample to provide better insight into the tests' accuracy in culturally diverse populations.PMID:37480233 | DOI:10.1080/13854046.2023.2237676

Incident risk and burden of cardiovascular diseases attributable to long-term NO < sub > 2 < /sub > exposure in Chinese adults
CONCLUSIONS: This study provided nationwide cohort evidence for elevated risks of CVD incidence associated with long-term ambient NO2 exposure among Chinese adults, particularly in urban areas and among overweight/obese individuals. Our findings highlighted that reducing NO2 exposure below 2021 WHO guideline could help prevent a substantial portion of incident CVD cases in China.PMID:37478679 | DOI:10.1016/j.envint.2023.108060

Admission thyroid function in relation to 90-day outcome of acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: FT3 and TSH were negatively correlated with poor 90-day outcome in patients with AIS. Measurement of thyroid function on admission may provide independent prognostic information for 90-day outcome of AIS.PMID:37466064

Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers for adults with early (stage 1 to 3) non-diabetic chronic kidney disease
CONCLUSIONS: There is currently insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of ACEi or ARB in patients with stage 1 to 3 CKD who do not have DM. The available evidence is overall of very low certainty and high risk of bias. We have identified an area of large uncertainty for a group of patients who account for most of those diagnosed as having CKD.PMID:37466151 | DOI:10.1002/14651858.CD007751.pub3
