Haem Iron Intake Is Associated with Increased Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events, All-Cause Mortality, Congestive Cardiac Failure, and Coronary Revascularisation in Older Men: The Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project
ConclusionHigher haem iron intake was independently associated with increased risks of five-point MACE, four-point MACE excluding all-cause mortality, all-cause mortality, CCF, and coronary revascularisation in older men over 5 years.

Rheumatic Heart Disease occurs when heart valves are damaged by Rheumatic Fever. Young First Nations Australians aged between 5 –14 years are at high risk of developing Rheumatic Fever. Complications of Rheumatic Heart Disease include atrial fibrillation, endocarditis, heart failure, and stroke. Early disease detection is essential as Acute Rheumatic Fever is easily treatable if detected early.

Task-specific training versus usual care to improve upper limb function after stroke: the “Task-AT Home” randomised controlled trial protocol
The objective is to determine whether task-specific training is a more effective treatment than usual care, for improving upper limb function, amount of upper limb use, and health related quality of life at 6 weeks and 6 months after intervention commencement.
