Naotaifang formula attenuates OGD/R-induced inflammation and ferroptosis by regulating microglial M1/M2 polarization through BMP6/SMADs signaling pathway
CONCLUSION: Microglial M1/M2 polarization plays a pivotal role in inflammation and ferroptosis during OGD/R. The BMP6/SMADs signaling pathway is a potential therapeutical target of inflammation and ferroptosis induced by the transformation of microglia. Moreover, NTF could alleviate inflammation and ferroptosis through the BMP6/SMADs signaling pathway in OGD/R-injured microglia.PMID:37713988 | DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2023.115465

Effectiveness and safety of oral anticoagulants for non-valvular atrial fibrillation: a population-based cohort study in primary healthcare in Catalonia
Conclusion: Being men, a previous event and DOAC-switch posed a higher risk for all study outcomes. direct oral anticoagulants had a protective effect against cerebral bleeding in comparison to vitamin K antagonists. Adherence to direct oral anticoagulants resulted in lower risk of stroke and cerebral bleeding. We found no differences in the risk of stroke and gastrointestinal bleeding when we compared direct oral anticoagulants vs. vitamin K antagonists.

Short-term antithrombotic strategies after left atrial appendage occlusion: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
Conclusion: No significant difference was found among patients receiving DAPT, DOACs, and VKA in terms of stroke, DRT, and major bleeding events after LAAO. The SUCRA indicated that DAPT was ranked the worst among all antithrombotic strategies due to the higher risk of stroke, DRT, and major bleeding events, while VKAs were ranked the preferred antithrombotic strategy. However, DOACs are worthy of consideration due to their advantage of convenience.

The efficacy and safety of post-stroke cognitive impairment therapies: an umbrella review
Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that ACEI inhibitors (Donepezil) and NMDA antagonists (Memantine), EGB761, and acupuncture are the ADL and BI, MoCA, and neurological function deficit medication/therapy, respectively, for patients with PSCI.Clinical Trial Registration:https://inplasy.com/inplasy-2022-11-0139/; Identifier: INPLASY2022110139.

Comparing adverse Events of tenecteplase and alteplase: A Real-World analysis of the FDA adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS)
CONCLUSION: This study identified and compared signals of ADRs associated with tenecteplase and alteplase, although tenecteplase is as effective as alteplase and has advantages such as ease of use and affordability, it cannot replace alteplase in the treatment of AIS until its safety profile is fully recognized. Additionally, previously unreported ocular ADRs and pneumonia were identified, providing valuable insights into the relationship between ADRs and the use of these thrombolytic drugs. These findings underscore the importance of continuous monitoring and effective detection of AEs to ultimately enhance the safety of ...

The mechanisms of minocycline in alleviating ischemic stroke damage and cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury
Eur J Pharmacol. 2023 Jul 6:175903. doi: 10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175903. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTStroke is a group of diseases resulting from cerebral vascular rupture or obstruction and subsequent brain blood circulation disorder, leading to rapid neurological deficits. Ischemic stroke accounts for the majority of all stroke cases. The current treatments for ischemic stroke mainly include t-PA thrombolytic therapy and surgical thrombectomy. However, these interventions aimed at recanalizing cerebral vessels can paradoxically lead to ischemia-reperfusion injury, which exacerbates the severity of brain damage. Minocycli...

Hemorrhagic risk factors after rt PA thrombolysis in acute cerebral infarction
CONCLUSIONS: The establishment of a prediction model based on the risk factors of HT after rt-PA thrombolysis had a good predictive value in patients with ACI. This model was helpful in guiding clinical judgment and improving the safety of intravenous thrombolysis. Early identification of symptomatic bleeding risk factors provided a reference for clinical treatment and prognostic measures of patients with ACI.PMID:37401290 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202306_32791
