Long-Term Effectiveness of Cilostazol in Patients with Hemodialysis with Peripheral Artery Disease
CONCLUSION: Continuous treatment of cilostazol in patients with HD with PAD significantly decreases the risk of ED visits, hemorrhagic stroke, and cardiovascular events and improves ED visit-free and cardiovascular event-free rates during long-term follow-up.PMID:36216573 | DOI:10.5551/jat.63404

Novel Oral Anticoagulants in Peripheral Artery Disease. Current Evidence.
CONCLUSION: For the time being, novel oral anticoagulants in combination with aspirin may provide an alternative treatment in PAD, however, it is deemed necessary to identify patient subgroups who will benefit the most. PMID: 30585539 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Peripheral interventions and antiplatelet therapy: Role in current practice.
Abstract Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common disorder associated with a high risk of cardiovascular mortality and continues to be under-recognized. The major risk factors for PAD are similar to those for coronary and cerebrovascular disease. Management includes exercise program, pharmacologic therapy and revascularization including endovascular and surgical approach. The optimal revascularization strategy, endovascular or surgical intervention, is often debated due to the paucity of head to head randomized controlled studies. Despite significant advances in endovascular interventions resulting in increas...

Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa Inhibitor Bridging and Subsequent Endovascular Therapy in Vertebrobasilar Occlusion in 120 Patients
Conclusions Our results indicate that combined therapy with IV GPI and subsequent endovascular therapy may be a valid treatment strategy in acute VBO. With this treatment approach, a preserved vigilance before treatment and an embolic occlusion type are associated with no to moderate disability.

“Liberation treatment” for chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency in multiple sclerosis: the truth will set you free
ConclusionCCSVI appears to be a poorly reproducible and clinically irrelevant sonographic construct. “Liberation treatment” has no proven efficacy, may exacerbate underlying disease activity and has been complicated with SAEs. “Liberation treatment” should stop being offered to MS patients even in the settings of RCTs. Renovascular hypertension: A report of 21 cases.
Abstract Renovascular hypertension (RVH) is among the most common forms of secondary hypertension. We studied 21 patients (eight male and 13 female) with RVH who were encountered during a period of 16 years. The average age of the patients was 34.75 years. Trans-renal Doppler ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis of renovascular stenosis (RAS) as the cause of RVH in 95% of the patients. Computed tomography angiography was performed in ten cases, which confirmed the diagnosis in all these cases. Magnetic resonance angiography was performed in only three patients. Renal scintigraphy was performed in 11 patients, with D...

Endocardial occlusion of incompletely surgically ligated left atrial appendage using an Amplatzer septal occluder device
A 55-year-old man underwent a surgical Maze procedure for the treatment of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation with concomitant surgical suture ligation of left atrial appendage (LAA). Baseline transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and computed tomography (CT) angiography revealed a normal LAA free of thrombus (A). Ten days after surgery, he developed an acute embolic stroke. Repeat TEE and CT angiography demonstrated an incompletely surgically ligated LAA (ISLL) without thrombus, with the ISLL neck dimensions measuring 3 × 3 mm (B). He was promptly initiated on oral anticoagulation (OAC) therapy. But owing to intolerance to...
