Anticoagulation strategies in COVID-19 infected patients receiving ECMO support
CONCLUSION: In hospitalized patients with COVID-19-associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) on VV ECMO support, the use of bivalirudin showed to be a viable anticoagulation alternative in terms of efficacy compared to UFH and resulted in a favorable safety profile with lower rates of bleeding and thrombotic events.PMID:37682210 | DOI:10.1051/ject/2023027

Aetiology of extracranial carotid free-floating thrombus in a prospective multicentre cohort
CONCLUSIONS: The majority of symptomatic carotid artery FFT are likely caused by local plaque rupture, more than half of which are associated with moderate to severe carotid stenosis requiring revascularisation. However, a significant number of FFTs are caused by non-atherosclerotic mechanisms warranting additional investigations.PMID:36368714 | DOI:10.1136/svn-2022-001639

P64 NIMBUS geometric clot extractor for tough clots: SPERO study results and clot composition
ConclusionsIn challenging cases with tough clot, first pass of NIMBUS retrieved clot richer in fibrin and lower in RBC content than clot retrieved with the first pass of standard MT devices.ReferencesFennell VS, Setlur Nagesh SV, Meess KM, Gutierrez L, James RH, Springer ME, Siddiqui AH. Risk of future cardiovascular diseases in different years postpartum after hypertensive disorders of pregnancy: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Discussion: A history of HDP is associated with approximately 2- to 4-fold increase in the risk of CVDs. Screening for CVDs and their risk factors in women with prior HDP since delivery, especially the first 5 years after delivery is suggested for early detection and appropriate management. Evidence on the risks of CVDs in preeclampsia with severe features and early onset of preeclampsia is limited due to having few studies and high heterogeneity. E-044 Patient outcomes after treatment of brain aneurysm in small diameter vessels with the silk vista baby flow diverter: a systematic review
ConclusionThis systematic review suggests that SVB is a safe and effective treatment for intracranial aneurysms in small vessels. Device trackability and reduced system dimensions, also facilitated the treatment of previously judged not amenable lesions, including a wide range of aneurysms located in anterior and posterior circulation distal vessels. Further prospective and comparative studies with patient outcome data specific to aneurysm location are needed to confirm the safety and efficacy of SVB.Disclosures R.
