Comparison of the Ecarin Chromogenic Assay and Diluted Thrombin Time for Quantification of Dabigatran Concentrations
ConclusionsFor detection of levels below 50 ng/mL both tests have specificities of at least 96%, suggesting that they accurately detect even low levels of drug. Therefore, regardless of whether a chromogenic or clot‐based platform is preferred, the STA‐ECA‐II and dTT are useful tests for measuring dabigatran concentrations. Unfortunately, neither test is licensed by the United States Food and Drug Administration. Although approved in other jurisdictions, the dTT and STA‐ECA‐II are not widely or rapidly available in most hospitals. Therefore, cooperation between regulators and hospitals is urgently needed to rende...

ARHGEF10 knockout inhibits platelet aggregation and protects mice from thrombus formation
ConclusionsARHGEF10 serves as an important regulator in platelet shape change, spreading and aggregation. Moreover, ARHGEF10 also plays an important role in arterial thrombosis formation. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Assessment of clinically relevant bleeding as a surrogate outcome for major bleeding: validation by meta ‐analysis of randomized controlled trials
ConclusionDespite an apparent correlation between CRB and major bleeding in major orthopedic surgery, AF and for double‐blind acute VTE studies, the wide CIs suggest that CRB might not be an acceptable surrogate outcome in any of these settings. This article is protected by copyright. Shear ‐sensitive nanocapsule drug release for site‐specific inhibition of occlusive thrombus formation
ConclusionsTargeted delivery of eptifibatide by shear‐sensitive nanocapsules offers site‐specific antiplatelet potential, and may form a basis for developing more potent and safer antiplatelet drugs.

Maresin 1 induces a novel pro ‐resolving phenotype in human platelets
ConclusionsThese data support the concept that SPMs differentially regulate platelet function and may represent a novel class of antiplatelet agents. SPMs also may play an important role in the resolution of inflammation in cardiovascular diseases. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Prediction models for intracranial hemorrhage or major bleeding in patients on antiplatelet therapy: a systematic review and external validation study
ConclusionA limited number of prediction models is available that predict intracranial hemorrhage or major bleeding in patients on antiplatelet therapy. Methodological quality of the models varied, but was generally low. Predictive performance in patients with cerebral ischemia was poor. In order to reliably predict the risk of bleeding in patients with cerebral ischemia, development of a prediction model according to current methodological standards is needed. This article is protected by copyright.
