The incidence of recurrent cardiovascular events among acute coronary syndrome patients treated with generic or original clopidogrel in relation to their sociodemographic and clinical characteristics. The Aegean study.
Conclusions: The use of a generic clopidogrel besylate formulation was quite high in both urban and insular areas of Greece and had similar efficacy and safety profile with the original clopidogrel salt, supporting the routine use of this low-cost generic clopidogrel in the management of cardiovascular disease patients. Frailty Status Affects the Decision for Long-Term Anticoagulation Therapy in Elderly Patients with Atrial Fibrillation
ConclusionA high percentage of the elderly AF patients did not receive AT, even at discharge. Patients who did not receive AT at discharge had higher bleeding and frailty scores. In the 1-year follow-up period after hospital discharge, high all-cause mortality and a high number of hospital readmissions were recorded.

Antiplatelet treatment in diabetic patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: a GReek AntiPlatElet registry substudy
Conclusion In ‘real-life’ ACS undergoing PCI, diabetic patients have higher – although not significantly – MACE rate and no difference in bleeding events. This difference in MACE was significant among clopidogrel-treated patients, whereas when newer antiplatelet agents were used the negative impact of DM on ischemic events was eliminated.

Use of idarucizumab for dabigatran reversal in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation undergoing emergency surgical repair of strangulated femoral hernia
We report a case of a 61-year-old woman with history of NVAF on dabigatran, presented to the emergency department with a strangulated right femoral hernia causing small bowel obstruction, where idarucizumab was administered before surgery. The patient had received her last dose of dabigatran 4 hours before presenting to the emergency department and her activated partial thromboplastin time was over the upper limit of reference. Surgery followed about one hour after the administration of idarucizumab and surgeon reported normal perioperative haemostasis.
