Mechanical thrombectomy in low Alberta Stroke Program Early Computed Tomographic Score: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
CONCLUSION: Mechanical thrombectomy for patients with large infarcts is associated with improved functional outcomes and a similar safety profile compared to optimal medical management. Ongoing trials will help better refine the target population that benefits the most from treatment.PMID:37574930 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231193464

Safety and efficacy of eptifibatide in acute ischemic stroke requiring extracranial carotid artery stenting
CONCLUSIONS: Eptifibatide may have a role in the management of acute stroke requiring carotid stenting. Caution may be required in those with established infarct on presentation imaging.PMID:37574792 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231193928

Intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical recanalization for acute ischemic stroke in deep brain stimulation patients: a case series
ConclusionIVT and MT were tolerated by four patients with ischemic stroke more than 6  months after DBS surgery without bleeding complications.

Identifying large vessel occlusion at first glance in telemedicine
ConclusionThese findings confirm that the presence of head and/or gaze deviation serves as a reliable biomarker in stroke-based telemedicine for the diagnosis of LVO, as well as a strong indicator for MT. Furthermore, this marker is just as reliable as the NIHSS score but easier to assess. We therefore suggest that any stroke patient who displays head and/or gaze deviation should immediately be scheduled for vessel imaging and subsequently transported to a MT-competent center.

Comparative analysis of stenting for carotid web and atherosclerotic disease
CONCLUSION: Stenting for CaW was found to be technically simpler than CAD and not to confer increased risk of baroreceptor dysregulation. Intimal hyperplasia was uncommon in CaW cases.PMID:37563917 | DOI:10.1177/15910199231188856

Ticagrelor versus clopidogrel after intracranial stent angioplasty: a real-world study
ConclusionIn our study involving patients with acute ischemic stroke who had undergone intracranial stenting, aspirin-ticagrelor was not found to be superior to aspirin-clopidogrel in reducing the rate of ischemic vascular events. The risk of bleeding did not differ between the two groups. Aspirin-ticagrelor does not lower total restenosis and symptomatic restenosis risk at follow-up.

The impact on clinical outcomes after 1  year of implementation of an artificial intelligence solution for the detection of intracranial hemorrhage
ConclusionThe added value of this study emphasizes the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) computer-aided triage and prioritization software in an emergent care setting that demonstrated a significant reduction in a 30- and 120-day all-cause mortality and morbidity for patients diagnosed with intracranial hemorrhage (ICH). Along with mortality rates, the AI software was associated with a significant reduction in the Modified Ranking Scale (mRs).
