Incidence, early case fatality and determinants of stroke in Iran: Golestan Cohort Study

Socioeconomic inequalities in prevalence, awareness, treatment and control of hypertension: evidence from the PERSIAN cohort study
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of HTN was higher among low-SES individuals, who also showed higher levels of awareness. However, treatment and control of HTN were more concentrated among those who had higher levels of SES, indicating that people at a higher risk of adverse event related to HTN (the low SES individuals) are not benefiting from the advantage of treatment and control of HTN. Such a gap between diagnosis (prevalence) and control (treatment and control) of HTN needs to be addressed by public health policymakers.PMID:35864469 | DOI:10.1186/s12889-022-13444-x

This study aimed to quantify health effects and associated economic values of reducing PM2.5 air pollution using BenMAP-CE in Qom in 2019. Prevalence and factors connected with chronic diseases in the elderly residents of Birjand: a community – based study in Birjand, South Khorasan Province, Iran
ConclusionThe findings demonstrated that hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and stroke are the three prevalent NCDs among elders in the area and warrant a specific focus on reducing the burden of diseases and aligning healthcare services to prepare the whole needs of this population.

Spatial patterns and temporal variations of traffic-related air pollutants and estimating its health effects in Isfahan city, Iran
AbstractIsfahan as an important industrial city has faced with air pollution recently. Thus, we assessed the spatial and temporal trends of ambient PM2.5, CO, SO2, and O3 and for estimating their health effect on Isfahan citizens between March 2018 and March 2019 through the AirQ+ software. The Economic Burden of Smoking ‑Attribution and Years of Life Lost due to Chronic Diseases in Mashhad, 2015–2016
Conclusions: The results of this study can be used to inform policy ‑makers about smoking‑attributable diseases in Iran. To decrease the smoking‑attributable costs, which have resulted in the spread of NCDs, policy‑makers should adopt and implement effective policies regarding smoking prevention and control.
