MMP1 Overexpression Promotes Cancer Progression and Associates with Poor Outcome in Head and Neck Carcinoma
This study aimed to elucidate its expression pattern and functional roles as well as clinical significance in HNSCC. The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) were utilized to determine the MMP1 expression pattern and the associations between its expression and patients' outcome in HNSCC. Mice tongue squamous cell carcinoma model induced by 4-nitroquinoline 1-oxide (4NQO) and siRNA-mediated cellular assay in vitro were utilized to evaluate the oncogenic role of MMP1. The biological functions and cancer-related pathways involved in MMP1-related genes were found through bio...

Clinical Evaluation of FOXO1 as a Tumor Suppressor in Prostate Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: In summary, our study suggests that FOXO1 may be one of the prognostic factors that describe the risk of PCa for BCR. These results suggest that FOXO1 may be a therapeutic target for PCa.PMID:34552661 | PMC:PMC8452405 | DOI:10.1155/2021/8773423

P3H4 Overexpression Serves as a Prognostic Factor in Lung Adenocarcinoma
CONCLUSION: The present study systematically evaluated the functional and clinical values of P3H4 in LUAD, and explored the related biological pathways. P3H4 might promote LUAD progression through regulating tumor microenvironment-related pathways.PMID:34257701 | PMC:PMC8249155 | DOI:10.1155/2021/9971353

Utilizing Selected Di- and Trinucleotides of siRNA to Predict RNAi Activity.
Authors: Han Y, Liu Y, Zhang H, He F, Shu C, Dong L Abstract Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) induce posttranscriptional gene silencing in various organisms. siRNAs targeted to different positions of the same gene show different effectiveness; hence, predicting siRNA activity is a crucial step. In this paper, we developed and evaluated a powerful tool named "siRNApred" with a new mixed feature set to predict siRNA activity. To improve the prediction accuracy, we proposed 2-3NTs as our new features. A Random Forest siRNA activity prediction model was constructed using the feature set selected by our proposed Binary S...
