Acetyl-cinobufagin suppresses triple-negative breast cancer progression by inhibiting the STAT3 pathway
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study support the potential clinical use of acetyl-cinobufagin as a STAT3 inhibitor in TNBC adjuvant therapy.PMID:37651362 | DOI:10.18632/aging.204967

Inhibition of VCP modulates NF- κB signaling pathway to suppress multiple myeloma cell proliferation and osteoclast differentiation
This study aims to identify if VCP is a therapeutic target in MM and confirm the effect of a novel inhibitor of VCP (VCP20) on MM. We found that VCP was elevated in MM patients and correlated with shorter survival in clinical TT2 cohort. Silencing VCP using siRNA resulted in decreased MM cell proliferation via NF-κB signaling pathway. VCP20 evidently inhibited MM cell proliferation and osteoclast differentiation. Moreover, exosomes containing VCP derived from MM cells partially alleviated the inhibitory effect of VCP20 on cell proliferation and osteoclast differentiation. Mechanism study revealed that VCP20 inactivated th...

Palmitic acid promotes human retinal pigment epithelial cells migration by upregulating miR-222 expression and inhibiting NUMB
This study unravels a novel PA-miR-222-NUMB axis that can be potentially targeted for therapy of high fat acid-related ocular diseases.PMID:37566749 | DOI:10.18632/aging.204647

ACE2 inhibits proliferation of smooth muscle cell through AT1R and its downstream signaling pathway
J Biosci. 2023;48:25.ABSTRACTTo investigate the effect of the angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) on AT1R expression, ERK1/2 and STAT3 protein phosphorylation in rat vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) was studied. VSMCs were transfected with a lentiviral vector including the ACE2 gene and with siRNA to regulate the level of ACE2 in VSMCs. The levels of mRNA and proteins of ACE2, AT1R, ERK1/2, p-ERK1/2, STAT3, and p-STAT3 in VSMCs were examined using real-time PCR and western blot. The proliferation of VSMCs was observed by CCK-8 assay and BrdU measurement. Upregulation of ACE2 inhibited the growth of cells elicited by...
