1,25(OH)2 D3 attenuates hepatic steatosis by inducing autophagy in mice.
CONCLUSIONS: The data suggest that 1,25(OH)2 D3 may ameliorate hepatic steatosis by inducing autophagy by upregulating ATG16L1. PMID: 28145056 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Oestrogen exerts anti-inflammation via p38 MAPK/NF- κB cascade in adipocytes
Conclusions E2 inhibits LPS-stimulated MCP-1 in adipocytes. This effect is related to the inhibition of p38 MAPK/NF-κB cascade, and ERα appears to be the dominant ER subtype in these events.

Ahnak stimulates BMP2-mediated adipocyte differentiation through Smad1 activation.
CONCLUSIONS: A molecular mechanism was proposed in which Ahnak regulates adipocyte differentiation through Smad1 activation. PMID: 26813528 [PubMed - in process]

In vitro differentiation of mouse brown preadipocytes is enhanced by IGFBP-3 expression and reduced by IGFBP-3 silencing.
CONCLUSIONS: Brown adipocyte growth and differentiation in vitro were affected by the manipulation of IGFBP-3 expression, suggesting that IGFBP-3 is a factor regulating brown adipocyte fate. PMID: 26333724 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

MFAP5 is related to obesity-associated adipose tissue and extracellular matrix remodeling and inflammation.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results demonstrate that factors involving low-grade inflammation modulate MFAP5 expression and that the modified expression of MFAP5 may further regulate AT inflammation. PMID: 26054006 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Prolonged efficiency of siRNA-mediated gene silencing in primary cultures of human preadipocytes and adipocytes.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study describes the methods of gene silencing in primary cultures of human preadipocytes and adipocytes and their prolonged effectiveness. PMID: 24307633 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
