Apigenin alleviates oxidative stress-induced myocardial injury by regulating SIRT1 signaling pathway
In conclusion, apigenin protects cardiomyocyte function from oxidative stress-induced myocardial injury by modulating SIRT1 signaling pathway, which provides a new potential therapeutic natural compound for the clinical treatment of cardiovascular diseases.PMID:36781043 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175584

Molecules, Vol. 26, Pages 4919: The Inhibitory Effect of Sulforaphane on Bladder Cancer Cell Depends on GSH Depletion-Induced by Nrf2 Translocation
In this study, human bladder cancer T24 cells were used as in vitro model for revealing the inhibitory effect and its potential mechanism of SFN on cell growth. Here, a low dose of SFN (2.5 µM) was shown to promote cell proliferation (5.18–11.84%) and migration in T24 cells, whilst high doses of SFN (>10 µM) inhibited cell growth significantly. The induction effect of SFN on nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (Nrf2) expression at both low (2.5 µM) and high dose (10 µM) was characterized by a bell-shaped curve. Nrf2 and glutathione (GSH) might be the underlying mechanism in the effect of SFN on T24...

Fisetin Ameliorates the Inflammation and Oxidative Stress in Lipopolysaccharide-Induced Endometritis
CONCLUSION: In conclusion, fisetin effectively protected against LPS-induced oxidative stress and inflammatory responses which may be closely correlated to inhibition of TLR4-mediated ROS/NF-κB and activation of the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.PMID:34262322 | PMC:PMC8275103 | DOI:10.2147/JIR.S314130

Apigenin Alleviates Oxidative Stress-Induced Cellular Senescence via Modulation of the SIRT1-NADFormula: see text-CD38 Axis
In this study, we selected the hydrogen peroxide (H2O[Formula: see text]- or doxorubicin (DOXO)-induced senescence model in WI-38 human embryonic lung fibroblast cells to determine the potential anti-aging effects of apigenin in vitro and associated molecular mechanisms. We found that apigenin reduced senescence-associated [Formula: see text]-galactosidase (SA-[Formula: see text]-gal) activity and promoted cell growth, concomitant with a decrease in levels of Acetyl (ac)-p53, p21[Formula: see text], and p16[Formula: see text] and an increase in phospho (p)-Rb. Apigenin also increased the activation ratio of silent informat...

Quercetin induces pro ‐apoptotic autophagy via SIRT1/AMPK signaling pathway in human lung cancer cell lines A549 and H1299 in vitro
ConclusionsQuercetin ‐induced autophagy contributes to apoptosis in A549 and H1299 lung cancer cells, which involved the SIRT1/AMPK signaling pathway.
