SMAD3 promotes autophagy dysregulation by triggering lysosome depletion in tubular epithelial cells in diabetic nephropathy.
In conclusion, SMAD3 promotes lysosome depletion via the inhibition of TFEB-dependent lysosome biogenesis; this may be an important mechanism underlying autophagy dysregulation in the progression of diabetic nephropathy. IFIT5 Participates in the Antiviral Mechanisms of Rainbow Trout Red Blood Cells
We described a new defense mechanism based on IFIT5 antiviral activity in nucleated RBCs that appeared to contribute to halting the VHSV infection. This finding sheds light into novel antiviral therapeutics to mitigate the economic losses and social impact caused by viral infections in the aquaculture industry. This work broadens the knowledge of fish nucleated RBCs functions and their role in the immune response to viral infections. Ethics Statement Experimental protocols and methods relating to experimental animals were reviewed and approved by the Animal Welfare Body and the Research Ethics Committee at the University...

Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2 (HAVCR2) is decreased with viral infection and regulates pro ‐labour mediators OA
ConclusionCollectively, our data suggest that HAVCR2 regulates cytokines, chemokines, prostaglandins and cell adhesion molecules in the presence of viral infection. This suggests a potential for HAVCR2 activators as therapeutics for the management of preterm birth associated with viral infections.

Suppression of duck hepatitis A virus Type 1 replication by lentivirus-mediated RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene-specific siRNA
To explore the application of RNAi technology for the control of duck hepatitis A virus type 1 (DHAV-1). The RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) gene was amplified by PCR. pEGFP-RdRp was constructed for fusion expression of EGFP-RdRp protein. According to the sequence of RdRp, three gene-specific siRNAs were designed and the corresponding shRNA was inserted into pmiRZip to construct pRdRp-sh...
