Spexin role in human granulosa cells physiology and PCOS: expression and negative impact on steroidogenesis and proliferation
Biol Reprod. 2023 Sep 2:ioad108. doi: 10.1093/biolre/ioad108. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSpexin (SPX) is a novel neuropeptide and adipokine negatively correlated with obesity and insulin resistance. A recent study investigated expression and regulatory function of SPX in the hypothalamus and pituitary; however, the effect on ovarian function is still unknown. The aim of this study was to characterize the expression of SPX and its receptors, galanin receptors 2 and 3 (GALR2/3) in the human ovary and to study its in vitro effect on granulosa cells (GC) function. Follicular fluid (FF) and GC were obtained from normal weigh...

Estrogen-sensitive activation of SGK1 induces M2 macrophages with anti-inflammatory properties and a Th2 response at the maternal-fetal interface
CONCLUSION: Our findings highlighted the immunomodulatory roles of E2-activated SGK1 in Th2 immune responses by priming anti-inflammatory M2 macrophages at the maternal-fetal interface, resulting in a balanced immune microenvironment during pregnancy. Our results suggest new perspectives on future preventative strategies for RPL.PMID:37226177 | DOI:10.1186/s12958-023-01102-9

A functional genetic screen for metabolic proteins unveils GART and the de novo purine biosynthetic pathway as novel targets for the treatment of luminal A ER α expressing primary and metastatic invasive ductal carcinoma
In conclusion, GART inhibition by LMX or other inhibitors of the de novo purine biosynthetic pathway could be a novel effective strategy for the treatment of primary and metastatic BCs.

Resveratrol attenuates hydrogen peroxide-induced injury of rat ovarian granulosa-lutein cells by resisting oxidative stress via the SIRT1/Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway
CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that resveratrol attenuated oxidative stress to protect H2O2-induced rat ovarian granulosa-lutein cell injury and apoptosis via SIRT1/Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway.PMID:37013424 | DOI:10.2174/1381612829666230403133322

MiR-196a-5p facilitates progression of estrogen-dependent endometrial cancer by regulating FOXO1
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggested potential diagnostic and therapeutic applications for miR-196a-5p and its FOXO1 target in patients suffering from estrogen-dependent endometrial cancer.PMID:36573636 | DOI:10.14670/HH-18-572

Seeking an Important Role on Metabolomics-Effects of β-Estradiol on Lipoprotein Metabolism in Mammary Tumors
Yakugaku Zasshi. 2022;142(11):1191-1199. doi: 10.1248/yakushi.22-00098.ABSTRACTThe role of β-estradiol (E2) in lipoprotein metabolism in mammary tumors remains unknown. Therefore the effect of E2 on secretion of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) from mouse mammary tumor FM3A cells was examined. The E2-treated FM3A cells increased active LPL secretion in a time- and dose-dependent manner. The activity of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) was elevated in the tumor cells treated with E2, and E2-stimulated secretion of LPL was suppressed by the MAPK kinase 1/2 inhibitor PD98059, extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) 1/2 in...
