Oxidative stress and inflammation are mediated via aryl hydrocarbon receptor signalling in idiopathic membranous nephropathy
Free Radic Biol Med. 2023 Jul 12:S0891-5849(23)00543-9. doi: 10.1016/j.freeradbiomed.2023.07.014. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTMembranous nephropathy (MN) patients are diagnosed by the presence of phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) before they progress to renal failure. However, the subepithelium-like immunocomplex deposit-mediated downstream molecular pathways are poorly understood. The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR), NF-ƙB and Nrf2 pathways play central roles in the pathogenesis and progression of chronic kidney disease. However, their mutual effects on MN require further examination. Thus, we investigated the effect o...

Astragalin ameliorates renal injury in diabetic mice by modulating mitochondrial quality control via AMPK-dependent PGC1 α pathway
In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effects of AG against renal injury in streptozocin (STZ)-induced diabetic mouse model. Diabetic mice were orally administered AG (5, 10 mg·kg-1·d-1) for 4 weeks. We showed that AG treatment greatly improved the proteinuria and ameliorated renal pathological damage without affecting the elevated blood glucose in diabetic mice. Furthermore, AG treatment significantly suppressed highly activated ALR2, and reduced oxidative stress in the kidney of diabetic mice and in high glucose and lipids-stimulated HK2 cells in vitro. We demonstrated that AG treatment modulated mitochondrial...

PACS-2 deficiency in tubular cells aggravates lipid-related kidney injury in diabetic kidney disease
CONCLUSIONS: PACS-2 has a protective role against lipid-related kidney injury in DKD through SOAT1/SREBPs signaling.PMID:36138342 | DOI:10.1186/s10020-022-00545-x

Vitamin D Receptor/Vitamin D Response Element Directly Modulate < b > < i > Nestin < /i > < /b > Transcription to Ameliorate PAN-Induced Podocyte Morphological Changes
Conclusions: Paricalcitol directly regulates nestin transcription through the interaction of VDR/VDRE, thereby preventing morphological changes of podocytes in PAN nephropathy.Nephron

Mitochondria-Targeted CoQ < sub > 10 < /sub > Loaded PLGA-b-PEG-TPP Nanoparticles: Their Effects on Mitochondrial Functions of COQ8B < sup > -/- < /sup > HK-2 cells
Eur J Pharm Biopharm. 2022 Feb 26:S0939-6411(22)00039-X. doi: 10.1016/j.ejpb.2022.02.018. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCoenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) deficiency exhibits signs of multiple organ dysfunctions, particular subtypes present isolated kidney involvement progressing to chronic kidney disease. In these patients, early administration of oral CoQ10 has been shown to decrease proteinuria and to delay development of chronic kidney disease, which suggests that it may have a renoprotective potential in these patients. However, CoQ10 bioavailability in mitochondria is low, therefore its efficacy is limited. We aimed to develop mit...
