Transversus abdominis plane block vs. local wound infiltration for elective minimally invasive cholecystectomy in children: a prospective randomized trial
The objective of this study was to prospectively analyze this in minimally invasive cholecystectomy. We hypothesized that TAP block would be superior to LWI in terms of pain control and post-operative complications.

Short-term heart rate variability at rest in individuals with temporomandibular disorder: a comparative analysis
ConclusionThe short-term HRV in individuals with TMD is significantly lower when compared to a control group. Furthermore, there seems to be a relationship between the severity of the dysfunction and the HRV variables.Clinical relevanceUsing portable and low-cost devices, the HRV can be easily collected and analyzed, without the need for an arsenal of equipment such as the conventional electrocardiogram. This measure can contribute to the therapy adopted and identify individuals prone to unfavorable outcomes involving ANS modulation.

Reproducibility of exercise interventions in randomized controlled trials for the treatment of rotator cuff-related shoulder pain: a systematic review
Shoulder pain has a point prevalence ranging from 6.9% to 26% in the general population,1 and is a common reason to seek medical care.1 –3 Rotator cuff-related shoulder pain (RCRSP) is one of the most frequently seen shoulder disorders,4–7 leading to functional limitations affecting daily and work activities and an increased use of healthcare resources.3,6,8–11 Exercise therapy is recommended as a first line treatment in multi ple clinical practice guidelines for RCRSP.12

Sensitivity and specificity of a neuropathic screening tool (Self-report Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs, S-LANSS) in adolescents with moderate-severe chronic pain
Neuropathic screening tools improve recognition of neuropathic pain in adults. Although utilized in pediatric populations, the sensitivity, specificity and methodology of screening tool delivery have not been compared in children. We evaluated the Self-Report Leeds Assessment of Neuropathic Symptoms and Signs (S-LANSS) in adolescents (10-18 years) referred to a tertiary pediatric pain clinic. History and examination by specialist clinicians and multidisciplinary assessment informed classification of the primary pain type.

Widespread pain with nociplastic features is an independent predictor of low physical activity in people with multiple sclerosis
Exploring the relationship between underlying pain mechanism and physical activity could inform interventions to optimize physical activity in persons with multiple sclerosis (PwMS). This cross-sectional nationwide survey examined whether pain phenotype is a significant predictor of self-reported physical activity in PwMS. The study included 938 persons with self-reported diagnosis of MS (93% reported neurologist-diagnosed MS) who completed surveys of demographic, clinical information, pain intensity, indicators of underlying pain mechanisms (Fibromyalgia Survey Criteria and painDETECT), and physical activity (Godin Leisur...

Intermediate and Long-Term Outcomes of the Universal 2 Total Wrist Replacement
Conclusion The Universal 2 poses a reasonable TWR implant choice for patients with debilitating arthritis. However, despite excellent short-term follow-up outcomes, longer term follow-up shows the design does continue to be plagued by implant failure and instability. Targeting the microenvironment in the treatment of arteriovenous malformations
AbstractExtracranial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are regarded as rare diseases and are prone to complications such as pain, bleeding, relentless growth, and high volume of shunted blood. Due to the high vascular pressure endothelial cells of AVMs are exposed to mechanical stress. To control symptoms and lesion growth pharmacological treatment strategies are urgently needed in addition to surgery and interventional radiology. AVM cells were isolated from three patients and exposed to cyclic mechanical stretching for 24  h. Thalidomide and bevacizumab, both VEGF inhibitors, were tested for their ability to prevent th...

Sizzling Fat —Curative Endoscopic Resection of a Giant Lipoma Causing Colo-Colic Intussusception
We report the case of a 78  years-old woman with abdominal pain, constipation, and bleeding due to a giant lipoma of the sigmoid colon causing intussusception. After an initial diagnostic colonoscopy, the patient underwent an endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) without complications. Even if surgery is traditionally the prima ry therapeutic approach for giant colonic lipomas, selected cases can be successfully treated with EMR.

Patients experience of using colonoscopy as a diagnostic test after a positive FOBT/FIT: a systematic review of the quantitative literature
Conclusion This review highlighted that patient-reported experiences associated with colonoscopy were generally positive. To improve the colonoscopy experience, bowel screening centres should investigate means to: make bowel preparation more acceptable, make colonoscopy less painful and reduce post-colonoscopy symptoms.

Fallopian Tube Dermoid Tumor
A 40-year-old gravida 0 female presented to her primary care physician with gradual onset right lower quadrant pain. She had an evaluation including CT and ultrasound imaging. Both imaging modalities had findings suspicious for an intra-tubal dermoid cyst (Fig 1). Conventional laparoscopy was performed which confirmed a massively enlarged right fallopian tube, distended with fatty appearing material (Fig 2). She underwent right salpingectomy with contained specimen extraction without intraoperative spill.

Opioid-free percutaneous nephrolithotomy: an initial experience
ConclusionOur results show that there were no significant differences in pain-related encounters between those who received ketorolac and oxycodone –acetaminophen following PCNL. A non-opioid pathway may mitigate the potential risk associated with opioid prescription without compromising analgesia. Prospective comparative studies are warranted to confirm feasibility.
