Home monitoring of fetal heart rhythm: Lived experiences of women with anti-SSA/Ro52 autoantibodies and their co-parents
CONCLUSION: Both the mother and the co-parent expressed confidence in their own abilities and that the monitoring provided them with the advantage of growing a bond with the expected child. However, all the participants described a feeling of underlying tension during the risk period. The results show that home monitoring is not experienced as complicated or a burden for the parents-to-be and should be considered a vital part of the chain of care for mothers at risk for giving birth to a child with CHB. However, explaining the teamwork between the different caregivers, for the patients involved, their areas of expertise, a...

Association between genetically proxied PCSK9 inhibition and systemic lupus erythematosus risk: A mendelian randomization study
ConclusionsThis Mendelian randomization study showed that PCSK9 was associated with SLE pathogenesis, and its inhibition was associated with a reduced risk of SLE. This study has offered a prospective therapeutic avenue for intervening in the progression of SLE by inhibiting PCSK9 levels. (Source: International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases)

Association of pulmonary hypertension with outcomes in patients with Systemic sclerosis and other connective tissue disorders: review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with SSc-PH are characterized by significantly lower survival function as compared to SSc patients without PH. Among the different entities of PH, SSc shows the worst survival, underlining prognostic significance of detection and evaluation of PH according to the currently established approach.PMID:38567564 | DOI:10.36141/svdld.v41i1.14570 (Source: Sarcoidosis Vasculitis and Diffuse Lung Diseases)

Membranous lupus nephritis secondary to secukinumab therapy: A case report and literature review
We report the case of a 57-year-old man who developed membranous lupus nephritis after secukinumab treatment for psoriasis. Anti-SSA and PM-Scl antibodies were positive. dsDNA, anti-Smith, and anti-histone antibodies were negative, and serum complement was low. Secukinumab was discontinued, while tacrolimus was initiated, subsequently switched to cyclosporin, belimumab, glucocorticosteroid, and hydroxychloroquine with a good response. The relationship between lupus erythematosus and IL-17 inhibition requires further research.PMID:38569663 | DOI:10.1177/09612033241242698 (Source: Lupus)

Results and prognosis of kidney transplantation in lupus nephritis: Experience of an Argentine center
CONCLUSION: Patients transplanted for LN did not differ from the control population in terms of graft and patient survival. Infections were the main cause of death, so prophylaxis and vaccination continue to be a fundamental pillar in the prevention of infections in immunocompromised patients.PMID:38569651 | DOI:10.1177/09612033241244508 (Source: Lupus)
