Homeopathy: A State of the Science Review With Recommendations for Practical Therapies in Midwifery Practice
AbstractA substantial proportion of adults and children in the United States use complementary and alternative health practices, including homeopathy. Many homeopathic therapies are readily available over the counter, and many individuals access and self-administer these therapies with little or no guidance from health care practitioners. In addition, patients and health care providers are often confused by terminologies associated with complementary practices and may be unable to distinguish homeopathy from naturopathy, herbalism, holistic medicine, Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, or other forms of health care. Co...

Quantitative and qualitative analysis of complementary and alternative medicine content on fertility clinic websites in the united states
The use and availability of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in fertility treatment has become more widespread in recent years, although additional research is needed to determine its effectiveness. Examples of CAM therapies include acupuncture, yoga, herbal supplementation, and homeopathy. Fertility clinic websites are an important resource used by patients to obtain information for the types of services available to them. Homeopathy Use in the United States and Implications for Public Health: A Review.
Abstract Homeopathy is used by just over 2% of the U.S. population, predominantly for respiratory, otorhinolaryngology, and musculoskeletal complaints. Individual users who see a homeopathic provider for care are more likely to perceive the therapy as helpful than those who do not; however, only 19% of users in the United States see a provider. The rest presumably rely upon over-the-counter products. Recent clinical trials highlight several areas in which homeopathy may play a role in improving public health, including infectious diseases, pain management, mental health, and cancer care. This review examines recen...

More than 90% of sufferers are unable to work or function normally during their migraine episode, affecting their quality of life and medical expenditure. While the majority of patients experience attacks once or twice a month, more than four million people suffer...
