A qualitative study of low-load resistance training with blood flow restriction in people with advanced multiple sclerosis
CONCLUSIONS: Participants found BFR combined with low-load resistance training to be satisfactory (mixed initial expectations), acceptable (comfortable/easy), and impactful (translating to life improvements). Areas for program refinement were identified that should be targeted in future iterations.PMID:38616662 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2341993 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)

Factors affecting upper limb functional recovery after mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction: a prospective study
CONCLUSION: Postoperative shoulder function was comparable between the two IBR approaches. However, different factors were associated with improved upper limb disability between ABR and IMBR. Acute rehabilitation focused on resolving muscle tightness and pain may help mitigate upper limb disabilities following IBR.Trial registration number: KCT 0006501.PMID:38616681 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2343043 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)

The effect of auto-generated corrective exercise programming on movement literacy among firefighters: a pilot study
CONCLUSION: An auto-generated corrective exercise program individualized to scores on the FMS™ was effective and exceeded error thresholds based on a minimal detectable change of 2.5/21.PMID:38606538 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2341259 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)

Does self-reported physical activity relate to physical function and walking ability in female patients with hip osteoarthritis? A cross-sectional multicenter study
CONCLUSION: In female patients with hip osteoarthritis, greater physical activity was associated with greater lower extremity muscle strength and walking ability.PMID:38602279 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2334761 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)

Concurrent validity between field tests and cardiopulmonary exercise testing in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
CONCLUSION: The six-minute walk test, incremental shuttle walk test, and Glittre-ADL test were considered valid tests to explain the peak oxygen uptake variance obtained by the cardiopulmonary exercise testing in patients with IPF.PMID:38602319 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2024.2341245 (Source: Physiotherapy Theory and Practice)
