Osteolectin Promotes Odontoblastic Differentiation in Human Dental Pulp Cells
Osteolectin is a secreted glycoprotein of the C-type lectin domain superfamily expressed in bone tissues and is reported as a novel osteogenic factor that promotes bone regeneration. However, the effect of osteolectin on human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) has not been reported. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the odontoblastic differentiation of osteolectin in hDPCs and further attempt to reveal its underlying mechanism. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

A Cone-beam Computed Tomography Evaluation of External Invasive Resorption of Unerupted Teeth. Report of Three Cases
This study presents three cases of in vasive resorption in unerupted teeth, emphasizing the importance of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT). (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

A CBCT evaluation of external invasive resorption of unerupted teeth. Report of three cases
Tooth resorption can occur either physiologically or pathologically and can be classified as internal or external. The term "external invasive resorption" (EIR) has been used to describe lesions originating from any surface defect exposing dentin. The absence of bacterial contamination, an intact pulp space, and a lesion consisting mainly of fibrovascular tissue characterize EIR. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Identification of candidate genes of familial multiple idiopathic cervical root resorption
Multiple idiopathic cervical root resorption (MICRR) is a disease with an unknown etiology that causes invasive cervical root resorption in multiple teeth. Although previous MICRR genomic studies have identified candidate gene variants, the etiology of the condition remains poorly understood. In the present study, we investigated the genetic causality of MICRR to explore candidate variants. Saliva samples from a family containing two affected and two unaffected subjects with the dominant transmission of MICRR were subjected to whole-exome sequencing. (Source: Journal of Endodontics)

Comparative Evaluation of the Canal Shaping Ability, Pericervical Dentin Preservation, and Smear Layer Removal of TruNatomy, WaveOne Gold, and ProTaper Ultimate —An Ex Vivo Study in Human Teeth
Innovative file systems have been recently introduced, claiming improved effectiveness and superior ability to preserve the tooth structure, still allowing an efficient preparation and disinfection up to the apical region. Regardless, few data are available on the comparative effectiveness of the most recently developed systems. Thus, this ex  vivo study aimed to comparatively evaluate, for the first time, the functionality of WaveOne Gold (WOG), TruNatomy (TN), and ProTaper Ultimate (PU) file systems regarding canal shaping, dentin preservation, and smear layer removal ability.
