EMTs Killed in West Virginia Ambulance Crash
SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) — Two first responders have died in a crash involving their ambulance and a semi-truck in West Virginia. Jan-Care Ambulance spokesman Paul Seamann tells WVNS-TV that the early morning crash involving one of the company's ambulances happened Saturday, killing the two emergency medical technicians inside. Authorities say the crash occurred in Nicholas County. Seamann says there was no patient on board and the two EMTs were returning to their station from a hospital-to-hospital transfer in Morgantown. Five Children Dead in Pennsylvania Daycare Fire
ERIE, Pa. (AP) — An early morning fire in Pennsylvania at a residential building housing a day care center killed five children and sent the owner to the hospital, authorities said. The fire was reported in Erie, a northwest lake town, at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Chief Guy Santone of the Erie Fire Department said. The victims ranged in ages from 8 months to 7 years, Santone said. The Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership lists a day care at the fire address. Video: FDNY EMS Response Crash
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Two ambulances collided in a violent wreck in the Bronx that injured multiple first responders. One of the emergency vehicles overturned after being struck near Brook Avenue and East 142nd Street Saturday afternoon. FDNY sources tell CBS2’s Matt Kozar that four EMTs were injured in the crash that took place just after 4 p.m. Both vehicles were rushing to a scene in the area after receiving a call about an intoxicated person who was acting violently just a block away from the crash. FDNY EMS Warns of Data Breach
FDNY Shield   The Fire Department this week notified more than 10,000 patients whom the FDNY EMS had previously treated and or transported that their personal information may have been compromised by a loss of an agency employee’s personal external hard drive last March.
