Effect of repeated extraction of white ash with water on physicochemical properties of Palash Kshar
Title: Effect of repeated extraction of white ash with water on physicochemical properties of Palash Kshar Authors: Nilawad, V R; Gandhi, P K; Lagad, C K; Ingole, R K Abstract: Kshar Kalpana is the method of extraction of white alkaline substances present in the white ash of the plant. Ancient scholars used single- time extraction by variation in the quantum (4, 6 and 8 times) of solvent (water). Modern pharmaceutics recommend the repetition of extraction till getting maximum extract. So it is necessary to compare the Palash Kshar prepared by using single and repeated extraction by using water. Palash Kshar was prepared ...

A reliability test for the body constitution diagnosis using wrist pulse analysis based on Ayurveda
Title: A reliability test for the body constitution diagnosis using wrist pulse analysis based on Ayurveda Authors: M, Sukesh Rao; K, Ravishankar; Rao, Rathnamala Abstract: Wrist pulse diagnosis is the most primitive and apparent way to know about the human body condition for the diagnosis of disease. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian science, introduced wrist pulse diagnosis in the name of ‘Nadi’. Due to the lack of expertise and standardisation, the knowledge of Nadi is limited to very few Ayurvedic practitioners. Ethnobotanical and ethnoveterinary survey in Paraguay: Medicinal plants used for deworming
This study aimed to collect data on the use of medicinal plants (MPs) for humans and veterinary practices and at listing p lant species with potential anthelmintic properties to select some plant species for further studies following three criteria (availability, originality and popularity). A cross sectional survey was conducted with a total of 384 participants, using semi-structured face-to-face interviews and a free list. To evaluate quantitative data of MPs, two ethnobotanical indices were calculated, the Salience index (SI) and the Use Value (UV). The importance and use of MPs in the population of study was high, 98% ...
