Temporary disability pension recipients: Contextual stress factors and their effect on return-to-work-intention
CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, further research is required to identify possible factors which could predict the stage of RRTW. New interventions are needed that can raise the motivation for and success in the return to work of disability pensioners.PMID:38626789 | DOI:10.1055/a-2244-9958 (Source: Die Rehabilitation)

Facilitating and Hindering Factors in the Implementation of Medical Rehabilitation of Adolescents with Scoliosis before and during the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study
CONCLUSION: For successful rehabilitation during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, depending on weather conditions, therapy should be outside, as there is no need to wear mouth-nose protection outdoors. In addition, the physiotherapeutic treatment (Schroth therapy) should be carried out without mask due to the intensity of the exercise. Social contacts among all adolescents should be supported as much as possible. The leisure activities should provide a wide choice and enough free places. Continuation of certain hygienic measures could help to reduce the incidence of illnesses (e. g., gastrointestinal infections) in the future. The...

Oncological Rehabilitation for Breast Cancer
Rehabilitation (Stuttg). 2024 Apr;63(2):119-130. doi: 10.1055/a-2129-9279. Epub 2024 Apr 16.ABSTRACTAs a result of increasingly individualized and multimodal therapy, prognosis of breast cancer has improved significantly over the last years. However, multimodal treatment and the use of new medications can lead to a variety of somatic, sometimes new, side effects such as fatigue, polyneuropathy or autoimmune toxicities. This and the oncological diagnosis lead to a high level of psychological distress in the women affected and often to subsequent psychological disorders (sleep/anxiety disorders, depression, ...). Both the di...

Introduction to qualitative evidence synthesis - Variants and application
This article introduces the topic of qualitative evidence synthesis by describing three different synthesis methods - thematic synthesis, meta-ethnography, and grounded theory synthesis - and illustrating them with examples from rehabilitation research. This is followed by guidance on selecting the appropriate QES-method and reflections on the challenges of QES that are associated with the literature search and quality assessment of the studies to be included in the synthesis. Likewise considerations on quality criteria and their application are taken into account. GRADE-CERQual provides guidance for assessing confidence o...
