Impact of a cardiac rehabilitation program on adherence to the mediterranean diet and physical activity in acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: The CRP, in our hospital environment, has an effect of improving adherence to the mediterranean diet and physical exercise in patients with ACS. The change in adherence to the diet increases as the motivation to change the baseline increases, and age is inversely related to the change in adherence.PMID:38574393 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.23000219 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on cardiometabolic patients without SARS-CoV-2 infection in Latin America
CONCLUSION: Restrictive quarantine measures imposed by the different countries showed a positive correlation with medication discontinuation and a negative correlation with physical activity levels in patients analyzed. These findings characterize the impact of the consequences left by this pandemic. Undoubtedly, restrictive measures have been and will continue to have reverberating negative effects in most Latin-American countries.PMID:38537217 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.21000181 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Impact of the Mexican education system and age on basic knowledge about ischemic heart disease in the pre-COVID-19 era
CONCLUSIONS: Knowledge about IHD in general population is deficient and doesn't increase adequately neither with age nor academic studies. It is necessary to review our health education strategies.PMID:38537219 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000238 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

The rescue of medical education crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic
CONCLUSIONS: Undoubtedly, the pandemic has caused damage to the teaching of two generations of medical students during 2020 and 2021, and we are still afraid that, in 2022, it will persist. Therefore, in our opinion, the medical education implemented by us is not ideal, but, at least, it constitutes a good palliative for the harm that the pandemic caused to medical education.PMID:38537221 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000225 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)

Prevalence of moderate-severe aortic stenosis in patients with cardiac amyloidosis in a referral center
CONCLUSIONS: In our cohort, the coexistence of both pathologies had a similar prevalence as reported in the international literature. It was an elderly population with a high percentage of atrial fibrillation and history of heart failure. Most of the patients presented with severe AS with low flow low gradient.PMID:38507302 | DOI:10.24875/ACM.22000074 (Source: Archivos de Cardiologia de Mexico)
