Safe and successful pregnancy following breast cancer treatment in young patients 35 years old or under without invasive fertility preservation: a retrospective study
CONCLUSION: In young patients, pregnancy after treatment for breast cancer did not affect their overall survival or diseasefree survival as compared to nullipara or previously delivered groups. Therefore, pregnancy counseling should not be prevented in young breast cancer patients 35 years old or under.PMID:38586552 | PMC:PMC10995843 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.189 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Outcomes of bilateral axillo-breast approach robotic parathyroidectomy < em > versus < /em > open parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism: a single-institution retrospective study
CONCLUSION: Compared with the open procedure, BABA-RP is a safe and feasible procedure that provides an excellent biochemical cure rate for patients with pHPT and has superior cosmetic benefits with equivalent surgical outcomes.PMID:38586553 | PMC:PMC10995836 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.203 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Fate of small remnant pancreatic tail in splenic hilum after laparoscopic spleen preserving distal pancreatectomy: a retrospective study
CONCLUSION: In spleen preservation, leaving a small pancreatic tail inside the splenic hilum is feasible and more beneficial to the patient than performing splenectomy in anatomically challenging patients.PMID:38586554 | PMC:PMC10995840 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.211 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Comparison of totally laparoscopic and laparoscopic-assisted approach in gastrectomy with D2 lymphadenectomy for advanced gastric cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy: a retrospective comparative study
CONCLUSION: For patients with locally advanced gastric cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy, laparoscopic D2 gastrectomy can be considered as a safe and efficient alternative. A further multicenter prospective randomized controlled study is needed to elucidate the applicability of this technique for advanced gastric cancer.PMID:38586555 | PMC:PMC10995841 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.218 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)

Comparative profiling by data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry reveals featured plasma proteins in breast cancer: a pilot study
CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that plasma proteome profiling can reveal potential diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer and may contribute to early detection and personalized treatment strategies. A further validation study with a larger sample cohort of breast cancer patients is planned.PMID:38586559 | PMC:PMC10995839 | DOI:10.4174/astr.2024.106.4.195 (Source: Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research)
