Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a recurrent, chronic inflammatory disease of the hair follicles particularly in the apocrine gland-bearing areas of the axilla, inguinal, perianal, mammary and inframammary areas. Onset is usually after puberty, in the early 20s. It is more common in females than males. Prevalence is estimated to be 0.05- 4.1%. It can be associated with premature adrenarche, metabolic syndrome and obesity.

Cat Scratch Disease
Cat scratch disease is an infection transmitted by cat scratches and bites. The lesion is usually small and less than 1 cm in length. It is normally a benign, self-limiting illness lasting for about 6-12 weeks. It is caused by an exposure to bartonella henselae bacteria.
Scratches or bites from an infected cat can cause symptoms in people including swollen and draining lymph nodes, fever, fatigue and headache. Swollen, tender, or hard lymph nodes could be confused with a soft tissue tumor.

Cat-Scratch Fever Is Making Thousands Of People Sick, CDC Finds
ATLANTA (CBS) – Americans love their feline friends, but there is a danger that some cat owners may not know about.
A new study from the Centers For Disease Control highlights the risks of “cat-scratch disease,” also known as cat-scratch fever. According to the CDC, there are 12,500 Americans diagnosed with the disease every year, and 500 of those cases are serious enough to require hospitalization.
Cat-scratch fever is caused by the bacteria Bartonella henselae, which is spread by fleas. It can be transmitted to humans through scratches and possibly bites, researchers says.
