Should I disclose my IA to medical schools if it doesn't appear on my transcript?
Hi everyone, I'm having a lot of trouble with a decision, and it's made me lose a lot of sleep which has really taken a toll on my health. I got sent to the office of student conduct for suspicions of cheating on my organic chemistry final. I went to the office and admitted to cheating, as I did indeed copy a synthesis problem off of my friend's test. I was placed on conduct probation (not academic probation), and got half score on the exam which left me with a C in the class. My... Help me since my school won't?
I'm finishing up first year and have an infectious disease research project lined up this summer along with step 1 studying. As of now I'm pretty set on path, although I'm still interested in ID and heme/onc. I've shadowed a community pathologist for a couple of days but would really like to see what the day-to-day life is like for an academic pathologist. Although potentially naive at this point, my desired career goal is clinical path combined with some public health policy, particularly... Help me since my school won't? Locums
I'm considering early retirement with some locums to supplement income. Somewhere between 3 to 6 months a year. Few questions for those who have done locums before: 1 Do they pay for your flight? Let's say it is a 2 to 3 hr flight. 2 Do they pay for a car rental? 3 What is the going rate for cardiac? How much for call and overtime? 4 How do you deal with health insurance for the family? 5 How much money you think you can make working 6 months, taking call and overtime? What are you doing for health insurance?
Just curious- for those of you moving to a different state for school, are you buying coverage through the exchanges? Are you opting for the plan that the school offers? If you are currently on your parents' insurance plan, but are moving to a different state, are you able to keep their coverage if the company is a national one (ex. Anthem BCBS)? AMCAS course classifications
I am unsure how to classify some things after looking around here and the manual. I have taken epidemiology courses, but there is no specific classification for it in the manual. There is a public health one, but epidemiology is more of a science I think. Do you think I could list epidemiology as BCPM, and they would accept it? Also, for undergraduate research for credit hours, should it be listed as a lecture? I don't know because technically you are doing work in a lab. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

A patient's right to self-discovery
I want to preface this by saying that, in my opinion, psychology is an invaluable science and profession. I think the importance of the field will only grow over the years, and I hope that one day mental health classes are considered standard curriculum. The APA has a code of ethics regarding clinical care. Principle E in the general principles protects the patient's right to self-determination. I think this makes diagnosis a bit of a slippery slope. How can you give someone a diagnosis... A patient's right to self-discovery (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Academic Dishonesty and Chances of Admission
I am currently a freshman at a public university who was recently caught for academic dishonesty for having gotten answers for a notebook quiz in my Chemistry lab. I'm among several other hundred students who are receiving a zero for the assignment (another student posted the questions to the group me and I used them to write down the pertinent information in my notebook) but there will be no mark on my transcript. How much of a deal breaker will this be for a med school should I maintain... Academic Dishonesty and Chances of Admission (Source: Student Doctor Network)
