23 mcat, high gpa, Chances and schools, Advice please!
Hey guys, so I really messed up with the MCAT. Took it once. MCAT was 23. 8/6/9 Both my science GPA is around a 3.65 and my overall is closer to a 3.8. I worked as an EMT in an ambulance for 2 years. Became a trained phlebotomist, then worked in a hospital's lab for a year. I've been doing research for about a year, but no publications. I am currently volunteering, and basically teaching classes for underserved high schools who cannot afford proper health education. I plan to also shadow a... 23 mcat, high gpa, Chances and schools, Advice please! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I do a second fellowship? Which one?
PGY3 path resident here... I'll be done with my AP/CP residency in about a year. Afterwards, I'm doing a surg path fellowship. I'd like to do another fellowship and have an interest in Women's Health. My program director suggests I either do a fellowship in a field with a board exam (to increase my skill and marketability) or just start working after the first fellowship. Some folks are telling me that doing a non-boarded surgical specialty after a surg path fellowship serves little purpose.... Should I do a second fellowship? Which one? Volunteer hours?
Hi! I took a gap year after graduating and have been working full time as a research assistant since in the Department of community health. I only recently began to volunteer in the emergency department and will probably only acquire 50 hours by application time due to my full time work schedule. I plan to continue volunteering after I submit my application ad well. It turns out that these 50 hours have been extremely eye opening and meaningful to me. I have done volunteering in... Do Private Medical Schools also prefer undergraduates from private schools?
I've read that it is essentially only the private medical schools where undergraduate "prestige" of the university matters. However, I've also read that public medical schools give great preference to their own in-state students. So, as an attendee of a public school in a state with very few public medical schools, what would be my best bet for applications? I don't really have the "prestige" factor at my school that would be advantageous for private schools. But I also don't have the... Is the safe path worth it? HELP
Hi everyone, first time poster here. Sorry for the wall of text. I'm currently enrolled and on my way to the flagship public university in my state that has a medical school in its system. I have shadowed extensively, lurked this thread for years during high school, and questioned every doctor I've come... Is the safe path worth it? HELP (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The Future of Medical Education
by goliszek (Posted Fri May 13, 2016 2:01 pm)Looking at curricula at different medical schools around the country, we get some clues as to what medical education will look like in the near future. For students entering classes in 2016 and beyond, and who’ve grown up around technology and the new changes in healthcare, medical school will be nothing like it was even five years ago. Here are just some of the innovations and new changes being implemented by some of the leading schools in the nation:• A focus on technology: because today’s applicants are much more tech savvy, and since medical advances are happening at b...

Taking physics over the summer at Harvard
Hello, I am planning to take physics over the summer at Harvard. Although I would like to take it at cheaper public schools, I live in NYC and CUNYs don't offer physics I and II together. I am also considering taking it at NYU as well. I saw that Harvard only has a single 7 week session so I would have to take PHYS S-1A and PHYS S-1B concurrently. I really like the fact that I will be done with everything in 7 weeks, but I am also worried that it might be too overwhelming for me. Has...
