It ’ s time to halt NHS staff exodus with game-changing pay rise, say health unions
The mounting NHS staffing crisis and long waiting times will become permanent unless the government brings in a game-changing retention package, with an inflation-busting pay rise at its heart, say health unions today (Monday).
In evidence to the independent NHS pay review body (NHSPRB), the 14 unions – representing 1.2 million health staff in England – are calling on ministers to act urgently with a significant wage boost. They say this would help halt the growing exodus of exhausted staff from the NHS.

Health organisations stand together against abuse
The country’s leading health organisations – between them representing hundreds of thousands of NHS staff – have today (Wednesday) come together to stand against the abuse to which they have been subjected during the pandemic.
The group – which includes the Royal College of Midwives (RCM), UNISON, and the NHS Confederation – has also urged the public to stand with them.

Delayed pay rise will leave staff disappointed, say health unions
Health unions representing 1.2 million NHS staff in England have responded to the 3% NHS pay rise announced by the government today (Wednesday), which accepts the recommendation made by the independent pay review body.
