Live vaccinations in dermatology for immunosuppressed patients: a narrative review
Arch Dermatol Res. 2024 Mar 2;316(3):96. doi: 10.1007/s00403-024-02827-2.ABSTRACTGiven the higher susceptibility to infectious disease in patients receiving immunosuppressive therapies for inflammatory dermatologic conditions, immunization is important in this population. While live vaccines protect against life-threatening diseases, they can be harmful in immunosuppressed patients given the risk of replication of the attenuated pathogen and adverse reactions. The utilization of live vaccines in immunosuppressed patients depends on multiple factors such as the vaccine and therapy regimen. To provide an overview of evidence...

Oral Psoriasis —An Overlooked Entity: Current Paradigms and Future Perspectives
AbstractPurpose of ReviewPsoriasis is a chronic, genetically determined, scaly, and inflammatory disease of the skin. Pathogenesis is multi-factorial, involving dysregulated inflammation and genetic associations. Cutaneous lesions are characterized as thick, erythematous, all-around defined plaques covered with a silvery white scale. Commonly affected areas include the elbows, knees, sacral area, and scalp. One of the factors that may result in the appearance of psoriatic lesions may be the oral cavity lesions. Aim of the present article was to review the effects of psoriasis on oral cavity, histopathological investigation...

Clinical signs and treatment of New-onset Bone marrow failure associated SARS-CoV-2 infection in Children : a single institution prospective cohort study .
Conclusion: SARS-CoV-2 virus is added to several viral infections known to be implicated in the pathogenesis of aplastic anaemia. Studies are needed to establish a definitive association and determine whether the response of bone marrow failure to standard therapy differ from that of idiopathic cases. The effects of drug-drug interaction on linezolid pharmacokinetics: A systematic review
ConclusionsThis systematic review found that numerous drugs have an impact on the pharmacokinetics of linezolid, and the purported main mechanism may be that linezolid is the substrate of P-glycoprotein. In clinical practice, it is prudent to pay attention to the changes in linezolid pharmacokinetics caused by interactions. Conducting therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is beneficial to improve efficacy and reduce adverse reactions of linezolid. (Source: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology)

Mechanistic Determinants of Daprodustat Drug-Drug Interactions and Pharmacokinetics in Hepatic Dysfunction and Chronic Kidney Disease: Significance of OATP1B-CYP2C8 Interplay
Clin Pharmacol Ther. 2024 Feb 26. doi: 10.1002/cpt.3215. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDaprodustat is the first oral hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor approved recently for the treatment of anemia caused by chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adults receiving dialysis. We evaluated the role of organic anion transporting polypeptide (OATP)1B-mediated hepatic uptake transport in the pharmacokinetics (PKs) of daprodustat using in vitro and in vivo studies, and physiologically-based PK (PBPK) modeling of its drug-drug interactions (DDIs) with inhibitor drugs. In vitro, daprodustat showed specific transport by O...
