Hey, got accepted at two schools in places where I’ve got family. Both are similarly ranked schools and are similar situations for me. UAMS NW is in a better place for me to pursue outdoor activities.

FTC bans noncompete clauses
Any thoughts on this? I personally am excited for this because the thought of someone telling me I essentially can’t work in my home city or elsewhere because I left their employment is disgusting to me. I’m glad it’s happening before I graduate and finish residency since that will give time for litigation to sort all this out. Is a research year necessary to get into a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship?
I am nearly done with my PGY-2 year and I'm very interested in CT surgery. We have the option of a research year, but I am wondering if that's absolutely necessary to do to get a position in a CT surgery fellowship. Johns Hopkins ($0 Debt) vs WashU ($0 Debt) vs Duke (Will Have to Take out ~45k/Per Year in Loans)
As the 04/30 deadline approaches, I become increasingly torn between these three schools. I’m leaning more toward Hopkins, and I’ll explain why below. Really tough spot for me right now. Biggest factor right now is that FSM offered me 75% tuition (less than any other offer I have been given; Mayo -- Full tuition (50 merit/ 50 need); Case Western -- 78% tuition; UChicago -- Full tuition, negotiating for stipend).

SUNY Upstate vs SUNY Downstate
I'm sure this has been done before, and they're two very different schools. For context, I would love to be in NYC not just for med school but for residency and beyond. So I have been leaning Downstate for some time. But with the hospital closure, and other things I've seen online, I'm having a hard time deciding! HPSP For Competitive Specialities

I am interested in applying for OB/GYN and I am also interested in applying for a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship once I complete residency. When looking at the different scholarships to pay for schools, I am really interested in doing a service scholarship and per the terms of the scholarship, if I were to specialize in MFM, I would not be eligible for the scholarship. I'm Applying for my NY Medical Licensey. I did receive a 'Written Reprimand' at the end of my PGY1 year.. Do I have to report it?
So I received a 'written reprimand' by my Program director at my 1st residency program where I finished my PGY-1 year. Since then as I am towards the end of my PGY3 year, I had no issues.

I live in Chicago, but my family is from Wisconsin, and my sister and mom work in Milwaukee. My significant other is from a Kansas City suburb and my college best friend is an M1 at KU Med.
