A novel risk signature based on liquid-liquid phase separation-related genes reveals prognostic and tumour microenvironmental features in clear cell renal cell carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: We developed a risk signature constructed based on the five LLPS-related genes and can have a high ability to predict the prognosis of ccRCC patients, further providing a strong support for clinical decision-making.PMID:38546385 | DOI:10.18632/aging.205691 (Source: Aging)

CASC19: An Oncogenic Long Non-coding RNA in Different Cancers
Curr Pharm Des. 2024 Mar 27. doi: 10.2174/0113816128300061240319034243. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA 324 bp lncRNA called CASC19 is found on chromosome 8q24.21. Recent research works have revealed that CASC19 is involved in the prognosis of tumors and related to the regulation of the radiation tolerance mechanisms during tumor radiotherapy (RT). This review sheds light on the changes and roles that CASC19 plays in many tumors and diseases, such as nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), cervical cancer, colorectal cancer (CRC), non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), gastric cancer (GC), pan...

Effect of galectin ‐1 on prognosis and responsiveness of immune checkpoint plus tyrosine kinase inhibition in renal cell carcinoma
ConclusionsHigh galectin-1 indicated therapeutic resistance and shorter PFS of IO/TKI therapy. High galectin-1 also indicated CD8+ T cell dysfunction. High galectin-1 could be applied for patient selection of IO/TKI therapy in RCC. (Source: Cancer Medicine)

Evaluation of tumor response to immune checkpoint inhibitors by a 3D immunotumoroid model
ConclusionOur immunotumoroid model replicated the multicellular nature of the tumor microenvironment sufficiently for preclinical ICI screening. This model could enable valuable insights into the complex interactions between cancer cells, the immune system, and the microenvironment. This is a feasibility study on a small number of cases, and additional studies with larger case numbers are required including correlation with clinical response. (Source: Frontiers in Immunology)
