how many RVUs do 100% IR jobs (esp in academia) hit per year?
just wondering if anyone can shed some insight? It seems like at my academic institution, it’s extremely difficult to hit that 8000-10000 RVU mark purely doing IR. Anyone else have any experience or input? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Income thread.
Hello, in the vain of the emergency medicine forum, could attendings ballpark their salaries, region, benefits, time off etc. I think it’s important for trainees soon to be graduating to know their worth, and will hopefully help those of us in training to work that much harder, thanks! Radiology is short too?
https://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/stat-rad.1485263/ Just saw this on EM forum. Seems like they can’t get a stat read for their films. Hospitals doesn’t have radiology in house or can’t get a stat read….. admins all should go straight to hell. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What are my chance for prestigious radiology programs?
US MD student wondering if I should be sending 8/12 of my signals to BWH, mass gen, yale, penn, cornell etc... or if it would be a waste. Background 4th year med student at unranked but respected school in the NE. We do match to ivy schools every year but not necessarily in rads. I decided on rads in second year but was originally going for a surg subspeciality so kept up some of my research in those so I have some non rads publications and activities. step 1: pass step 2: 271 Grades... Radiologist Behaving Badly
Unstoppable: This Doctor Has Been Investigated at Every Level of Government. How Is He Still Practicing? Anesthesiology or Radiology (not serious, but kinda)
What's up everybody, I am an M2 at a USMD and have been trying to figure out which specialty most aligns with me. Ive done this partially because step 1 being P/F, I feel like the decision to have a specialty selected and cater your CV to it specifically is more important especially earlier on. With that being said, I have grown interests in radiology and anesthesia with limited shadowing experience, however Id like to just hear input since I cannot decide anything on my own lol... Combined Breast fellowships for private practice?
Deciding on applying to breast fellowship and likely going into private practice afterwards. Would it be better to do a combined breast + body 1 year fellowship or do a 1 year breast only fellowship at maybe a better "name" institution with maybe a body "mini-fellowship" during R4 year? Are you more hireable if you do the combined fellowship or does it not really matter since breast is pretty high demand now anyway? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Can a DO match Diagnostic Radiology without research?
Hi all, OMS3 here. Came in wanting to do Radiology but at this point haven't done anything notable. No red flags, but no research or other ECs. I really hate the research/twitter/networking game. I spent 6-7 months on a research project and it went nowhere. I'm an older student with a family and have no will or desire to do those things. I just want to work hard, learn medicine and do very well on Step 2, and then practice community medicine after residency. Don't need an academic program... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Recommend dual-applying?
Hi all, I am an M4 applying ophtho trying to decide whether it's worth the effort to dual apply. My advisors have told me it's not necessary but the horror stories you hear of people not matching with 15 interviews scares me. I could dual apply to radiology without too much difficulty but I am concerned if having to interview for both specialties will lead to burnout and cause me to perform worse on interviews for both. My stats: MD school ranked 20-30 in South 1st quartile for grades but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ultrasound certificate
Hey everyone! I'm an ER vet that is getting burnt out pretty quickly. I was curious if anyone had suggestions for abdominal ultrasound certifications? I'm not talking 1-2 days of CE, but an actual program to become very efficient. I have no interest in becoming boarded in radiology, I just want to become better trained with ultrasounds for a more thorough diagnostic work-up. Dream job would be doing abdominal ultrasounds in a quiet room all day and giving the report to the DVM and then... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
