Reapplying Radiology
So long story short, I am a DO student that matched prelim and did not match radiology :/. I want to reapply to physician and advanced positions but want to know peoples opinions on a few things. a. do my step and comlex 1 scores get looked at as pass/fail now? doubt it right? b. do I need to take comlex 3 AND step 3? cause some programs are still saying "we accept comlex but prefer step (that is for step 1 and 2 though)" c. what do people do if they get into an advanced program and then... Department of health?
For you private practice guys doing in office procedures. I’m currently renovating an old primary care office, adding Pre and postop, to procedure rooms, and likely radiology room. On the department of health website, I can clearly see that it is required to have permits/ inspection for hospitals and surgery centers, but where is the line drawn if you’re doing procedures in your office? One physician told me if you do in office sedation you need department of health clearance? Any other... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Rough Start in Radiology Residency
Hello everyone.. So I just started R1 and have read some posts on the challenges that usually arise during this period in training. However, I cannot help but feel that I'm having more of a difficult time than normal. I go to a small hybrid (private/academic) program. Midwest. My experience with the program so far in what it offers for training and the faculty available along with their backgrounds are all incredible. Having said that, I'm having a rough time progressing and feeling... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Tips for matching in California after doing medical school elsewhere
Currently in medical school in the Midwest, but want to come back home to California for residency. Other than doing well in medical school (good clinical grades, good step 2 score, research publications), is there anything I can specifically do to increase my chances for matching in CA? Ideally Northern California? If this varies somewhat by specialty, here's what I'm considering: Neurology Neurosurgery Radiology Endocrinology Hepatology Allergy/immunology Pulmonary critical care... Neuroradiology Fellowship Rankings
hey all, trying to put together a rank list for neuroradiology fellowship post-interviews. was hoping to get an idea of the general rankings/strengths of top programs. interviewed at both 1 year and 2 year, think I want to do private practice, academics not excluded though. location only matters to me in that i'd like to be in a mid to large city eventually, but could make anything work for 1-2 years. there are various lists out there, just trying to get a sense to then compare with my own... Compensation per RVU?
Hi- looking at potential jobs following fellowship. One interesting job was listed at $~28 per RVU as a tele radiology position in a true private practice, M-F and occasional weekends. Half sub-specialty work in body/MSK/neuro, other half mixed specialty. Was wondering what people think of this job, if that’s any better or worse compared to corp rad compensation, and what typical PP compensation/RVU is. Other jobs just post salary and such, thought this job kinda stuck out as different Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Cancer risk in CT?
Had an attending comment today about how we’re going to cause cancer in a patient because she’s had 30 CT and/pelv scans over the past few years for abdominal pain. Well I agree that it’s excessive to say the least, the patient is 63 years old. Trying to find data on this in an older population. I keep finding stuff showing relationships to CT scanning and eventual development of malignancy in peds, but essentially nothing after age 45. Most stuff seems pretty vague too. But maybe my... Recommended Radiology Rotations?
Hello! I am a second year veterinary student looking to pursue a specialty in Radiology. Although I still have a year, I'm trying to research which radiology rotations are recommended, including any locations for future internships. Do any upperclassmen have any suggestions on rotations to either put on my radar or to avoid? Thank you so much in advance! ^-^ (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Does radiology become more or less social after residency?
Residency has been a somewhat socially isolating experience, made worse during the pandemic by >50% of my attendings working remotely close to full time. Earlier this year I went almost 3 weeks without seeing my attending for the day in person, and days I know I will be alone the entire day I don't really look forward to going to work. Kinda wish I had a little more human interaction, besides a random person calling me on the phone once in a while to ask where a line is. Just wondering if it...
