Interest in IR - 238 Step Score
No IR research but had exposure during rotation. Always wanted ENT but then moved into DR and now leaning IR. Issue is my step score. I will hopefully have 2 ENT and 1 other publication by apps and hopefully 250 Step 2. Is it worth doing aways for IR if I am interested in it? Would you recommend doing DR then ESIR hoping to get into a better DR program? How major of a barrier is a 238 step score without any major IR research but other forms of research even if i do aways. I go to a weak... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Gift to Radiologist Intern
Hi, I was wondering what would be a good gift or website to get a gift card from to an (almost) graduated vet student getting ready to start a radiology internship? I’m a current 1st year and I’m unsure what aspiring vet radiologists need during their internships/residency. TIA! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

People who did a procedural heavy DR fellowship, eg MSK or body
How much of your procedural skills do you actually get to use in practice? Some MSK fellowships are almost 50% procedural, does this seem overkill to you? I just assumed most guys would be doing close to 100% dictating once they were actually in practice. Is this amount of procedures just something seen at academic medical centers? Curious about rad onc
I am currently a 1st year radiology resident (already did prelim) and I am not truly enjoying radiology. I just can’t imagine doing this for the rest of my life. I honestly have enjoyed patient interaction during med school and my prelim year.I am exploring other options. I did post similar question on the IM thread. I feel like I radiation oncology sounds really cool. Can you guys tell me more about it? I have already read a lot of threads telling people not to go into it because of... Co-authors on RSNA presentations
Hey everyone, Just curious on how co-authorship on RSNA presentations look? Unfortunately, I do not think I will have any papers for RSNA but i am curious if acceptance to RSNA as co-author presenter means anything for ERAS applications. In particular for mid programs. Switching from Radiology
I could really use some advice guys. I am currently a PGY-2 radiology resident and I have come to the realization that I do not want to do radiology. I cant see myself sitting in a dark room for the next 30 years of my life. Do you guys think it would be possible to switch and start in a IM program starting this summer or is that pretty much impossible? Should I email my current institution IM pd to see if there is an opening? I honestly cant see myself in radiology any longer. I know... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Low In Service Exam Score
Hi guys! I am currently a R1 about to start R2 year soon. I just received my in service exam score the DXIT exam score and scored <10% on it, which is not good. I also have not studied much during this year, which I know does not help. I am also at a program where we take true independent call which is going to be starting soon for me. I am definitely not ready to do that. I am even strongly considering switching to IM, for a number of reasons. I like the material in radiology, but I... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

ABR sample questions percent
Anyone know what’s considered a good score to be safe for passing for the ABR sample questions? Just took it and thought questions seemed similar to board vitals. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What is the scope of Diagnostic Radiology?
One of my interests is in radiology (both DR and IR), but I haven't had the opportunity yet to really understand the scope of each specialty. I know that in a basic sense DR is more focused on reading imaging and IR is more focused on performing procedures. That being said, the way the docs at my school talk, it sounds like diagnostic radiologists are sometimes responsible for certain minor procedures (feeding tubes, spinal taps, etc.). Can anyone speak as to what diagnostic... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Rads Questions CORE exam qbank opinions?
Hey all, Thinking of purchasing another qbank to do before the CORE exam in June. I've already done board vitals and radprimer, but don't really feel like doing them again would be that helpful for me. Any opinions on the rads questions qbank? I don't know anyone personally who has used it and don't see many reviews on the internet - probably because it's relatively new. I tried the demo and the questions seem decent. Anyone here have experience with it? Or any other qbanks worth looking... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

OMS1: Wondering about heme/onc fellowship competitiveness/planning for the future.
I was wondering about my chances of matching into heme/onc later. From what I can tell, Heme/Onc is competitive but I don't know where it fits on the scale of other residencies/fellowships. is it like: Gastro>General Surgery>Radiology>Heme/Onc>Anesthesia>IM>Neurology>FM I'm only OMS1 right now though at a NEW DO school. Though, before med school, I was pretty set on research and industry. I wanted to do independent cancer research and my PI encouraged me to do med school. I did research...
