Distribution, host range and toxicity assessment of different insecticides on Bactrocera diversa Coquillett, 1904 (Diptera: Tephritidae)
Braz J Biol. 2022 Sep 9;84:e263261. doi: 10.1590/1519-6984.263261. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThe present study was conducted to investigate the array of hosts, distribution and to evaluate the toxicity of four insecticides: imidacloprid, fipronil, cypermethrin and chlorpyrifos alone and in combination against 3rd instar maggot and adult stage of fruit fly Bactrocera diversa Coquillett, 1904 (Diptera: Tephritidae) during 2021. B. diversa maggots were found vigorously feeding inside the cucurbit hosts (pumpkin, cucumber, bitter gourd, watermelon, round melon, bottle gourd) collected from different localities of Poonch divisio...

Effects of four chemosterilants on Bactrocera tau
In this study, the sterilization efficacy of varying concentrations of four chemosterilants, namely, hexamethylphosphoramide (HMPA), CSII Aqua, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), and colchicine, on adult pumpkin flies was investigated. The results indicated that a solution of 0.03% HMPA had the highest sterilization efficacy. When the number of sterile males was equal to or exceeded 20 times that of untreated males, the hatching rate of offspring eggs was less than 10%. Chemosterilant treatment significantly altered the levels of acid phosphatase (ACP), alkaline phosphatase (AKP), and B. tau vitellogenin (BtVg); these substances have ...

Integrated transcriptome and hormone analyses provide insights into silver thiosulfate-induced “maleness” responses in the floral sex differentiation of pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata D.)
This study provides useful information for understanding the mechanism underlying the effect of silver thiosulfate on floral sex differentiation in pumpkin, a widely cultivated vegetable crop worldwide, and gives a production guidance for the induction of maleness using STS for the reproduction of gynoecious lines of Cucurbitaceae crops. Development and optimization of a tamsulosin nanostructured lipid carrier loaded with saw palmetto oil and pumpkin seed oil for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia
Drug Deliv. 2022 Dec;29(1):2579-2591. doi: 10.1080/10717544.2022.2105448.ABSTRACTBenign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a nonmalignant growth of the prostate tissue and causes urinary tract symptoms. To provide effective treatment, tamsulosin (TM), saw palmetto oil (SP), and pumpkin seed oil (PSO) were combined and fabricated a nanostructured lipid carrier (NLC) as TM-S/P-NLC using experimental design. The purpose was to enhance the permeation and therapeutic activity of TM; combining TM with SP and PSO in an NLC generates a synergistic activity. An optimized TM-S/P-NLC was obtained after statistical analysis, and it had a ...
