[Image from unsplash.com]Venture capital firms invested more than $2.9 billion in medical device companies in 2018 — a slight increase from the $2.8 billion raised in 2017, according to the MoneyTree report from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and CB Insights. Both the first and second quarters of 2018 saw an increase in investments, totaling nearly $778 million and $786 million respectively. The third and fourth quarters were slightly lower, with medtech companies raising $738 million in Q3 and nearly $641 million in Q4. FDA clears EhmetDX ’ s 3D CBCT positioning software
Early stage medical equipment developer EhmetDX said late last week that it won FDA 510(k) clearance for its 3D CBCT positioning software.
