Cancer screening hasn't rebounded to prepandemic levels
Preventive health screenings, including those for screening mammography, have not rebounded to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels, a new study published February 2 in JAMA Health Forum found. World Cancer Day 2024
Cancer is a major contributor to global mortality, causing about 1 in every 6 deaths and affecting nearly every household (1). Globally, there were an estimated 20 million new cases of cancer and 9.7 million deaths from cancer in 2022.
