Lights and shadows in the implementation of community action for health
CONCLUSIONS: Participatory processes have demonstrated their ability to reposition the community as an essential part of the healthcare system. It would be interesting to use a measurement tool for participation in all community health actions, both to guide their design and planning and to assess the depth of participation and its impact on the process. Enhancing community action expectations for health in the near future involves promoting a community-oriented approach in primary care and intersectoral collaboration, which requires a significant institutional and policy commitment.PMID:38608387 | DOI:10.1016/j.gaceta.202...

MEDLINE, PubMed, CINAHL, and PsycINFO databases were searched for articles published between 2000 and February 2024. Titles and abstracts for 15,659 citation...

A nuanced exploration delving into malignant melanomas occurring in unexpected and less common anatomical locations
J Family Med Prim Care. 2024 Feb;13(2):800-803. doi: 10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_1778_23. Epub 2024 Mar 6.ABSTRACTMalignant melanoma originates from melanoma cells, which derive from the neuroectoderm of the ectodermal mucosa. The chameleonic presentation of malignant melanoma, its often asymptomatic nature, the rarity of the lesion, the grim prognosis, and the imperative for highly specialized treatment are critical factors that merit careful consideration. Herein, we report a compilation of five cases of malignant melanomas occurring at unusual anatomical locations, which were initially misdiagnosed, which on careful analysis wi...

Diagnosis of a recurred lesion in dermatophytosis patients after 2 weeks of antifungal therapy: A prospective observational study
CONCLUSION: This is the first study that described the clinical diagnosis and mycological profile of the various lesions recurring at the previous tinea infection site in patients with dermatophytosis. Such patients presented not only with recurrent lesions of fungal infection but also developed various dermatoses unrelated to fungal infection at the sites of previous tinea infection. Various factors, which could have resulted in the observed changes, are reinfection by dermatophytes at the sites of previous tinea infection, inadequate antifungal therapy or antifungal resistance; or due to the effects of various topical st...

Comparison of size of the liver between patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and healthy controls
CONCLUSION: The liver size of persons with fatty liver was substantially more considerable than healthy people. The size of the liver was substantially linked with sex, age, BMI, fatty liver, and hepatic steatosis grade. A straightforward way to predict fatty liver is to use ultrasonography to determine the size of the liver.PMID:38605772 | PMC:PMC11006049 | DOI:10.4103/jfmpc.jfmpc_94_23 (Source: Primary Care)
