Help a psychiatrist
Hey doctors, I am a psychiatrist active on the psych forum and was asked a GI question from a patient I’m seeing and wanted your help if possible since I’m not up to date on the current guidelines. I have a patient, 28 year old male with no PMHx aside from mild anxiety which is stable at this time without medications, however he has been on Prilosec 20 mg daily for the last 13 years..he started it at 15, he notes he had an endoscopy at that time and they said it was GERD and was started on... Online OTC Supplement Product Packaging and Sales
I had a rotation in a non-sterile outpatient compound pharmacy, and though it dealt with prescription drugs, e.g. hormones, it also had OTC drugs compounded in different dosage forms, such as omeprazole and aspirin lozenges, solutions, etc. In my city there is a large natural herb community, and I was thinking of selling supplements online in different dosage forms, e.g capsules, lozenges, and suckers, etc. This is a new prospect for me, so if anyone can steer me in the right direction... Where can I find compounding recipes for retail compounds?
Are there any hospital or other retail pharmacists that have a source for making compounds? A previous pharmacist that doesn't work for the company had a omeprazole recipe: 24 omeprazole 20mg caps, 1 tsp baking soda and 240 mL of water to make 2mg/mL, but I can't find any source for it? New management wont let any compounds without an "official" compound recipe on file. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is it illegal to compound commercially available products?
At a pharmacy I worked at they compound omeprazole 2mg/ml by mixing 24 capsules of the 20mg omeprazole capsules + 1 tsp baking soda, 240 mL water. I was told this is the only method Medicaid would pay for this disabled child who gets it twice a month. Another pharmacist then refused to make it saying it's illegal to compound because a commercially available product, First Omeprazole, is available. I'm really not sure. They have been compounding it twice a week for years (well before I ever... Is it illegal to compound commercially available products? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Possible CF (input please)
Hello all. I am a 20 year old male, and was recently tested via sweat test for CF. I received the call five days ago that I did not have CF due to the results, but I am not fully confident (as online research has led me to discover that in some, albeit very few, cases, the sweat test may produce normal results despite the patient having CF). Here's why I am not fully confident: 1) I was diagnosed with asthma at a young age--however, this asthma is so mild that it has a negligible impact on my life as of now. I need to take two puffs of my albuterol inhaler MAYBE once a week, if not less than that. I do not usually need i...
