Pregnant & can't start new residency on July 1st
I'm a MS4, pregnant w/ due date of June 28th 2019... few days prior to residency start date. I am already near the end of my interview trail so I'm planning on matching this year to IM. I've done my searches through the thread about the options w/FMLA, sick days etc. (Since I definitely would not have worked a full year w/ my new employer, I am not covered under FMLA) However it seems the fact that I can't start residency on July 1st complicates the picture quite a bit. Residencies can... Pregnant & can't start new residency on July 1st (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Child psych jobs OR Did I screw myself?
I spent years trying to get into a competitive and prestigious child psych program, but ultimately, decided against it and went with a much less prestigious but much more lifestyle friendly program in the area. Now, I'm really regretting it. My wife is now pregnant, and I've convinced myself that I've screwed myself from lucrative job offers in the area. I don't know why I'm feeling this way, though. The graduates from this program get good job offers, sometimes even better than the more... Child psych jobs OR Did I screw myself? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pharmacist Pregnant in retail setting
Hey Guys, As the title states, I'm pregnant and currently work for a chain pharmacy. Not gonna complain about the hours/tech help/high rx count. The hours are fine (12hour shifts), I get a stool in the evening to sit occasionally, and I wear compression socks since there are some days I'm running around all day. My main concern is third-hand smoking. I have a technician that goes on smoke breaks and I can directly smell it everywhere in the pharmacy when she gets back. She's an amazing... Abdominal pain in a 20 year old female, what could this case be?
20 year old female presents to the ER with abdominal pain. Afebrile and normal vitals. Pregnancy test negative. Labs normal. Ultrasound normal, no stones. CT (resident read) shows nonspecific inflammatory findings. Patient is sent home and her chlamydia test later returns positive. Attending CT read finds significant inflammatory findings in the mesentery and omentum, and she is told to return to the ER. Negative GU physical exam. But she is treated for PID with doxy and ceftriaxone. Later... Abdominal pain in a 20 year old female, what could this case be? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Another help I think I failed PE thread
Took PE yesterday. Here are the highlights of my blunders PE in ED: didn’t realize we were in ED til halfway through Preggers patient: patient said she was there to rule out pregnancy and the nurse had her pee in a cup. I didn’t see the pregnancy test results on the paper until I was writing the note. Also didn’t ask when her last menstrual period was OMM: did muscle energy to the wrong side, gave crap explanations and forgot to do it on one patient who requested but I put in plan I would... Sex Drive is Getting in the Way of Studying
Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I'm wondering if y'all had any advice. I don't have time in med school to be in a relationship, and I honestly haven't found anyone I want to be in a relationship with thus far. On the other hand, hooking up scares the hell out of me. Condoms don't adequately protect from HPV or HSV, and getting someone pregnant from a broken condom would financially ruin me. There would be no way for me to pay child support and also financially support... Sex Drive is Getting in the Way of Studying (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Chemo pharmacists and pregnant
What kind of duties do female chemo pharmacists usually take on when they first find out they’re pregnant? Friend is not a usual chemo pharmacist (Fills in occasionally). Doesn’t want to tell boss just yet until 1st trimester is over (lower chance of miscarriage). There are 2 chemo pharmacists per day—the other chemo pharmacist does the majority of the chemo checks; her shift involves mostly typing chemo orders but also checking occasionally some IV chemos in the hood when the other...
