EMRs
I'm curious if anyone feels particularly strong about their EMR. I've looked at Modernizing Medicine, Compulink, Nextech, and NextGen for a small practice needing EMR/PM software for both the clinic and practice management (no optical shop). There are a lot of options, and each EMR has its strengths and weaknesses. Would anyone be willing to comment on what they like and don't like about their EMR? Thank you! Is John Pinto's private practice lecture series still accurate?
Came across this series from 2017, and was honestly surprised at some of the numbers he listed for mid career salaries, found in the "contract negotiation" video. John Pinto's Ophthalmology Business Management Series J. Pinto & Associates, Inc. John Pinto is the country's most-published author on the subject of ophthalmic practice management. Mr. Pinto's Business Management Seminar is posted on EyeRounds with the very kind permission of John Pinto who reserves all rights to these works. webeye.ophth.uiowa.edu ...

Question for all Endodontists out there
Currently working as a general, but now considering endo. Is it true that you can do well seeing only around 6 patients/day with sick call/consults? Low overhead and easier practice management? - pros/cons? - are cases typically very difficult? - fast paced? - reimbursement rates getting worse? Appreciate any input (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Private practice management issues
I want to check with the SDN brain trust on issues I am seeing at a private practice where I am employed. First year out of fellowship employed in a large (10+) private practice. The group was private practice with their own infusion before but now it is mostly PSA with a large health system. Clinic attached to hospital. Overhead is very small. I am employed with a salary first year and will be fully production driven 2nd year onwards. 1. The partners who are working for 15+ years have very... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Practice management/dental business club?
A classmate and I are wanting to start a practice management/dental business club at our school because we don't get a lot of exposure to it from the planned courses. Do any of you have a club like this at your school? Does anyone have any experience setting up a club? What are your thoughts/suggestions? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Insurance Panels & Billing 101
Since the APA doesn’t require any training in practice management and billing, I thought it’d be helpful to start a thread. I’m hoping to hear from clinicians in all different settings to chime in because the more clinicians understand billing, the more we have an opportunity to advocate for ourselves. What Scheduling/Billing/Practice Management Software Do You Use?
We are in the beginning process of looking for a new Practice Management Software. We are a multi-site program, with 1/2 dozen or so clinicians (psychologists and speech therapists) with a primary focus on neurodevelopmental/psychological evaluations (little-to-know psychotherapy services; some speech treatment). We need a system for scheduling, billing, and tracking employee time and productivity, with EHR capabilities. Our current system is just OK- It was designed primarily for... Why can't medical school be 5 years?
Id like to invite opinions on this. I am not trying to bash the medical school system, although some changes may be needed. I'm just curious, what I constantly hear from physicians is there are many more skills required beyond your curriculum in medical school which largely focuses on healthy anatomy/physiology -disease-treatment . But skills I hear are motor skills, humility (Especially as a Ms3-PGY '''') , compassion, practice management/ insurance billing, ethical decisions, and even... Why can't medical school be 5 years?
