Entecavir prevents HBV reactivation during direct acting antivirals for HCV/HBV dual infection: a randomized trial
A strategy to prevent hepatitis B virus (HBV) virologic reactivation (HBVr) and clinical reactivation (CR) during direct acting antiviral (DAA) treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV)/HBV dual infection remains an unresolved issue. (Source: Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology)

Steroid-Free Deep Remission At One Year Does Not Prevent Crohn's Disease Progression: Long-Term Data From the TAILORIX Trial
Crohn's disease (CD) patients included in the TAILORIX trial started infliximab in combination with an immunosuppressant for one year. The aim of the present study was to determine the long-term disease course beyond the study period. (Source: Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology)

Prevalence of Forceps Polypectomy of Nondiminutive Polyps Is Substantial But Modifiable
The use of forceps for removal of nondiminutive polyps is associated with incomplete resection compared with snare polypectomy. However, few studies have characterized the frequency of forceps polypectomy for nondiminutive polyps or identified strategies to improve this practice. To address this gap, we estimated the prevalence and predictors of forceps polypectomy in clinical practice and examined the effectiveness of a multicomponent intervention to reduce inappropriate forceps polypectomy. Systematic Review and Meta-analysis: The Role of Diet in the Development of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
The association of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) with dietary factors is well established but not thoroughly investigated. This systematic review and meta-analysis synthesizes available evidence regarding the effect of nutrition on the presence and severity of NAFLD. (Source: Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology)

Symptom Classes in Decompensated Liver Disease
Patients with decompensated liver disease have been categorized by disease severity. This analysis sought to classify patients with end-stage liver disease based on symptoms rather than disease state and to identify distinct severity classes of physical and psychological symptoms. Decompensation in Patients With Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis: A Multihit Hypothesis
We have read with great interest the article by Bassegoda et  al1 about the increased prevalence of clinical decompensation in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) at lower thresholds of hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) as compared with those with viral disease. The present study suggests an important concept about underestimation of portal pressures by measuring HVPG in patients with NAFLD when compared with viral etiology. Although not specifically evaluated, authors suggested an existence of presinusoidal component as a possibility of this underestimation of portal pressures. (Source: Clinical ...
