A longitudinal study of facial asymmetry in a normal birth cohort up to 6 years of age and the predisposing factors
CONCLUSION: Facial asymmetry is detectable in early childhood and tends to reduce with age in young children. The lower face deviates slightly to the right, and the upper face to the left in relation to the facial midline. Possible predisposing factors for facial asymmetry at the age of 6 years include deformational plagiocephaly, sleeping position, and previous facial asymmetry.PMID:37036798 | DOI:10.1093/ejo/cjad012 (Source: European Journal of Orthodontics)

Medical Malpractice Litigations Involving Infant Craniosynostosis and Deformational Plagiocephaly in the United States
CONCLUSIONS: There were a small number of malpractice lawsuits involving infant skull deformity over three decades. When cases go to court, physicians and hospitals have a high likelihood of judgment against them, frequently resulting in high indemnity payments.PMID:36935634 | DOI:10.1177/10556656231165591 (Source: The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal)
