Unmapped short reads from whole-genome sequencing indicate potential infectious pathogens in german black Pied cattle
In this study, unmapped reads from 302 German Black Pied cattle were analyzed to identify potential pathogenic DNA. These unmapped reads were assembled and blasted against NCBI ’s database to identify bacterial and viral sequences. The results provided evidence for the presence of pathogens. We found sequences ofBovine parvovirus 3 andMycoplasma species. These findings emphasize the information content of unmapped reads for gaining insight into bacterial and viral infections, which is important for veterinarians and epidemiologists. Immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced neurotoxicity is not associated with seroprevalence of neurotropic infections
ConclusionPrevious viral, bacterial and protozoal neurotropic infections appear not to be associated with the development of neurological irAEs in melanoma patients who underwent therapy with ICI across 3 countries. Further efforts are needed to unravel the factors underlying neurological irAEs in order to identify risk factors for these toxicities, especially with the increasing use of ICI in earlier stage disease. Virus filtration using small pore virus filter in downstream processing of biotherapeutic products: The effect of operating pressure
Biologicals. 2023 Oct 12;84:101718. doi: 10.1016/j.biologicals.2023.101718. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVirus filtration is a robust and effective method to remove potential virus contaminants. Planova 20 N, a virus filter form Asahi Kasei Bioprocess, has been widely used in the manufacturing process of biotherapeutics. Previous studies have shown that parvovirus removal by Planova 20 N can be impacted by low operation pressure and depressurization. Therefore, it is critical to define an operating pressure range for robust virus removal. In this work, the effect of pressure combined with depressurization on virus removal...
