Fight Aging! Newsletter, September 5th 2016
This study is a good example of the degree to which the choice to remain active in later life makes a difference. That implies a range of other choices over the decades in order to raise the odds that you can in fact choose to remain active when older, such as avoiding weight gain. Moderate physical activity is associated with a greater than 50% reduction in cardiovascular death in over-65s. The 12 year study in nearly 2500 adults aged 65 to 74 years found that moderate physical activity reduced the risk of an acute cardiovascular event by more than 30%. Being a Cancer Treatment Partner
Recently my wife was asked to advise one of our friends about the process of cancer treatment.    As I wrote in my 2011 post about our family's experience with cancer, the treatment involves everyone close to the patient.   Here are Kathy's notes for families of cancer patients, which I post in the hope that they will help others."I promised  to pencil out tips for how you can best serve as a cancer treatment partner. Here is a great resource to read on the general way to help.At the treatment planning visit, you should take notes so the patient can remember things later more clearly. Could Dangerous Mandatory Vaccines Containing Aluminum Salts be Responsible for Microcephaly in Brazil?
Conclusion There is mounting evidence to suggest that vaccinations and medications containing aluminum salts are harmful to brain development. We need to ask ourselves why a vaccination known to contain well above the recommended levels of aluminum has been passed as safe for use in pregnancy by the Brazilian Health Ministry. For more information on the dangers of aluminum, I recommend parents read the growing number of articles, studies and peer-reviewed papers that the Children’s Medical Safety Research Institute have listed on their website.   References: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7087284 www.cdc.gov/vaccines...

Guest post — 10 observations from a 49 year-old falls risk.
It finally happened. After years of sitting at John’s bedside through multiple serious bike crashes, I had one of my own. I’ve had plenty of time to build up a ridiculous amount of smugness about why he crashes and I don’t. “John is reckless; Staci is cautious. John rides like an airplane engine on a shopping cart; Staci uses her head.” I was mountain biking in Cherokee Park. A storm front was moving in so the temperature and humidity were dropping and it was breezy. I felt so good! Like Rose and Jack on the bow of the Titanic. I was queen of my body and that trail. I passed a real mountain bike racer and I said ...

The name of the doctor has been intentionally omitted. Doctor XXX, My wife and I would like to say it was an absolute pleasure to meet you. We thank you for taking the time with us the other day to discuss our beautiful little daughter Rylan. I was wo...
