Blastoid Variant of Mantle Cell Lymphoma with Extranodal Presentation and Aberrant CD10 Expression
We report an elderly man diagnosed with blastoid variant MCL. He presented with disseminated soft-tissue and subcutaneous nodules, and showed aberrant CD10 expression. Presentation of the extranodal site and aberrant CD10 expressions carries an overall poor prognosis. CD10-positive MCL can be mistaken for large B-cell lymphoma.PMID:38504844 | PMC:PMC10947762 | DOI:10.4103/ijabmr.ijabmr_406_23 (Source: Cell Research)

Rituximab-combined anthracycline-free chemotherapy in newly diagnosed paediatric and adolescent patients with non-high-risk aggressive mature B cell lymphoma: protocol for a single-arm, open-label, multicentre, phase II study (the Japan Childrens Cancer Group Multicentre Trial, JPLSG B-NHL-20)
Introduction Children and adolescents with mature B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL) are treated with short-intensive chemotherapy. The burden of short-term and long-term toxicity is highly relative to its high cure rate in good-risk patients. Although the addition of rituximab to standard lymphome Malin B (LMB) chemotherapy markedly prolongs event-free survival and overall survival in high-risk patients, the benefit of rituximab in good-risk patients remains to be elucidated. This clinical trial will examine whether the addition of rituximab eliminates anthracyclines in good-risk patients without compromising treatment o...

CAR T-cell Therapy for Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma in Canada: A Cost-Utility Analysis
CONCLUSIONS: At the current drug price, tisagenlecleucel was not found to be a cost-effective option. These results heavily depend on assumptions regarding long-term survival and the price of CAR T. Real-world evidence is needed to reduce uncertainty.HIGHLIGHTS: For patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma who failed 2 or more lines of systemic therapy, CAR T was not found to be a cost-effective treatment option at a willingness-to-pay threshold of $100,000.These results heavily depend on the expected long-term survival. The uncertainty in the model may be improved using real-world evidence reported in the future.PMID:3...

Infection risk and antimicrobial prophylaxis in bendamustine-treated patients with indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma: An Australasian Lymphoma Alliance study
Br J Haematol. 2024 Mar 14. doi: 10.1111/bjh.19407. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTInfection and lymphopenia are established bendamustine-related complications. The relationship between lymphopenia severity and infection risk, and the role of antimicrobial prophylaxis, is not well described. This multicentre retrospective study analysed infection characteristics and antimicrobial prophylaxis in 302 bendamustine-treated indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients. Lymphopenia (<1 × 109 /L) was near universal and time to lymphocyte recovery correlated with cumulative bendamustine dose. No association between lymphopenia severi...

G-CSF  + plerixafor versus G-CSF alone mobilized hematopoietic stem cells in patients with multiple myeloma and lymphoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that the combination of G-CSF and plerixafor, resulted in more patients with MM, NHL, and HL, achieving the predetermined apheresis yield of CD34+ cells, which is related to the more effective mobilization of CD34+ cells into PB.PMID:38470973 | DOI:10.1080/07853890.2024.2329140 (Source: Annals of Medicine)

Persistent Polyclonal B-Cell Lymphocytosis (PPBL): An Entity That Is Not What it Seems
Acta Med Port. 2024 Mar 12. doi: 10.20344/amp.19991. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPersistent polyclonal B-cell lymphocytosis is a rare disease with chronic lymphocytosis of polyclonal origin, which is more frequent in mostly asymptomatic middle-aged female smokers. The hallmark of this entity is the presence of bilobed/binucleated B lymphocytes, which are polyclonal as demonstrated by immunophenotyping; an elevated IgM level is common. This disease shows, in most cases, an indolent course over many years and, although controversial, it may rarely convert to malignant lymphoma. In addition to smoking, a genetic predisposit...

Genome-wide methylation profiling of Peripheral T-cell lymphomas identifies TRIP13 as a critical driver of tumor proliferation and survival
Res Sq [Preprint]. 2024 Feb 29:rs.3.rs-3971059. doi: 10.21203/rs.3.rs-3971059/v1.ABSTRACTCytosine methylation of genomic DNA contributes to the regulation of gene expression and is involved in normal development including hematopoiesis in mammals. It is catalyzed by the family of DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) that include DNMT1, DNMT3A, and DNMT3B. Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) represent a diverse group of aggressive mature T-cell malignancies accounting for approximately 10-15% of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cases in the US. PTCLs exhibit a broad spectrum of clinical, histological, and immunophenotypic features with poor ...

Rituximab ‐induced psoriasis in a patient with pemphigus vulgaris: A case report and literature review
Key Clinical MessageRituximab which is established as a main treatment for pemphigus vulgaris can be a potential causative factor for development of psoriasis in some patients. It is preferred to avoid using rituximab in patients who had a history of psoriasis. Acquainting medical doctors about rituximab-related cutaneous complications will help them in detection and management.AbstractRituximab is a human/murine monoclonal antibody targeting the CD20 antigen on B-lymphocytes surface. Although it is used as promising treatment for pemphigus, nowadays it is also a new therapy for other autoimmune diseases including systemic...
